mundane debates within yourself

sometimes i get caught up debating with myself over really stupid things, like whether to have a fry up, or noodles for breakfast, or if i'm hungry but also in need of a poo, should i eat first? or go to the loo first?

what are the mundane (or not) things you often find yourself spending an unreasonable time deciding over?

"should I do my work, or should I post to ILX?"

Except I'm usually too busy posting to ILX to debate it for very long.

My biggest debate within myself is when I spend so long thinking out what I'm going to write in an email to a friend, that I end up forgetting to actually write the email.

most common internal debate--asking myself "is it worth the effort to even try to explain this to a person who clearly just isn't getting it?"

Should I wear this Killing Joke t-shirt or that Killing Joke t-shirt?

Hungry, but exhausted. Rest usually wins over food. And then later I realize that I'm skipping meals.

Also: Ilx or something that I should really get done? Ilx wins.

(Damnit damnit there's this paragraph I want to quote from The Verificationist about how insignificant decisions are more fraught with psychological peril than major ones, insofar as those insignificant decisions contain within them outard projections of all the biggest questions of identity and direction and etc. but then I had The Verificationist in my bag just this morning and I took it out because I was like "I'm not gonna re-read the whole thing, I just wanted to go over the pancake bit and be done with it.")

"is it worth the understanding to explain this person who's clearly not getting any?"

"You're stupid."
"No, you're stupid"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
