can these be subsumed under some kind auterist accounting of clint's favorite themes and approaches?

can the monkey himself claim a degree of authorship?

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 5 December 2003 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

also when will he make another monkey movie?

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 5 December 2003 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

cinniblount (James Blount), Friday, 5 December 2003 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Geoffrey Lewis is the man's name. The William H Macy of his day, only he didn't receive as much acclaim.

Seen here with Mrs. Griswold.

Kingfish Beestick (Kingfish), Friday, 5 December 2003 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

There is no monkey in these films. Honest.

I'm being pedantic.

ChrissieH (chrissie1068), Friday, 5 December 2003 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

She's right you know.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 5 December 2003 19:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I assume the two of you are overlooking William O Connell's contributions to the films.

i believe he played the biker gang leader.

Kingfish Beestick (Kingfish), Friday, 5 December 2003 20:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Humanity lost a great cinematic performance when Edward G Robinson found that he didn't have the heart to go thru the daily makeup process to be Dr Zaius...

Kingfish Beestick (Kingfish), Friday, 5 December 2003 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

orangutans are monkeys in the code of the streets

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 5 December 2003 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Geoffrey Lewis is Juliette Lewis's dad, I seem to remember: he's great in lotsa flicks (I particularly enjoy his turn in Tobe Hooper's 'Salem's Lot' tv adap)

Charlie Rich is in one of the Clint+Monkey flicks, so Classic enough

Andrew L (Andrew L), Friday, 5 December 2003 22:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Lewis is also great as the Klan leader in "Fletch Lives", even tho he only has one scene.

Kingfish Beestick (Kingfish), Friday, 5 December 2003 22:08 (twenty-one years ago)

amateur!st (amateurist), Thursday, 26 February 2004 08:14 (twenty-one years ago)

amateur!st (amateurist), Thursday, 26 February 2004 08:15 (twenty-one years ago)

too bad, you missed out

Lt. Kingfish Del Pickles (Kingfish), Sunday, 19 September 2004 06:53 (twenty-one years ago)

when they give clint eastwood his lifetime achievement award at the oscars, the introductory montage should consist entirely of scenes from the monkey movies and firefox

amateur!!!st (amateurist), Sunday, 19 September 2004 07:05 (twenty-one years ago)

"think in russian; you must THINK in russian"

oh, a childhood spent growing up with HBO...

Lt. Kingfish Del Pickles (Kingfish), Sunday, 19 September 2004 07:18 (twenty-one years ago)

During the montage, they also need to show the scene from Thunderbolt & Lightfoot where the old guy rolls his car over and then opens the trunk to let all of the bunny rabbits out.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 19 September 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)
