I'm currently undeclared (after changing from poli sci to English), but I would be a fine arts major if I ever got around to filing the paperwork.

I'd be taking some of the studio basics that I've avoided (drawing and 3d design) and the general reqs that I need (foreign language, science). I'm actually about a semester-and-a-half away from what I'd need for an AA degree, then transferring somewhere else or (back to UTA if all else fails).

Would you graduate from TCC? Or could you take some classes there, then graduate from UT?

(xpost why not take some basic courses somewhere cheap and then transfer to a more prestiguous place to have their name on your degree?)

If you love UTA, go there. Otherwise, save your money if it's for basic classes anyway.
