Okay...how easy is it to become a Canadian citizen?

Really. The Patriot Act BS has made me start thinking very strongly that maybe, just maybe, British Columbia would be a nice place to start a new business. So, in case it ever comes down to it, how do I go about becoming a canuck? I'm sure others would be interested as well.

(note: yes, I am a US citizen)

Sorry, I don't know.

I do know though that my uncle was kicked out of Cananda (he's from the US too), yet he's driving a truck there right now. God only knows what's in it.

Here you go, I have looked into this actually. I speak French and have a B.A. and think I could probably qualify.

Immigrating to Canada

Take the Skilled Worker Assessment to see how you'd do..

I'm hesistant to admit this but as I go about my studies I'm thinking about hedging any specialty with an eye to practicing in Canada for really long term political and economic reasons. That and pessimism and a nearly paranoid Bush induced psychological state.

seriously ... maybe all americans with brains should at least think of this. leave america to the rednecks, the jesus freaks, the greedy fucks, and other dirtbags so that they can turn it into honduras.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 6 December 2003 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

another thing ... an awful lot of blue states border canada (like NY, VT, WA, MN), or border states that border canada (like NJ, PA, MA, OR). so us blue staters should just secede already.

I can't believe I'm spending my Saturday night filling out bullshit Canadian immigration paperwork. Anyone else taken the plunge?

iatee, Saturday, 6 June 2009 23:58 (sixteen years ago)

kate78, Saturday, 6 June 2009 23:59 (sixteen years ago)

Jeez, considering the respective fed gov'ts, you'd think the tide would have reversed at this point.

I strongly advise against moving here, unless you're from New Zealand, in which case it will seem very modern.

http://www.burgerbusiness.com/what-mcdonalds-can-learn-from-canada/

Canada has done well by heavily promoting coffee—often with giveaways—to build breakfast sales as it battles Tim Hortons for morning supremacy. The absence of biscuits, not a Canadian tradition, simplifies the breakfast menu. Canada kept the Angus Third Pounder line after the U.S. stopped it, giving it a large burger with which to compete with the “better burger” brands. And it has created a more inventive list of premium-price items, such as the Jalapeňo Mighty Angus and Steak ‘n Caesar McWrap.

i don't understand

how can this be

i thought we were spirit brothers, canada

mh, Tuesday, 10 March 2015 14:23 (ten years ago)

Hortons has biscuits, I'm pretty sure.

A new restaurant opened 50 yards away from me, and you won't believe what they're selling.
