Belly Button Lint - What is it, where's it come from and what should I do with it?

i get it regularly. i'm not a hairy person, but i do have a happy trail that it gets caugt in every couple of days.

should i collect it and build a bellybutton lint ball?

Doesn't it come from the lint of your shirt?

See, and this is what I'd always taken for granted until I realized that the lint is usually blue or grey even when I'm not wearing a blue shirt. That is, I usually wear a standard white undershirt that's closer to my bellybutton than my oxford or whatever, so shouldn't my bellybutton lint be white? Or today I'm wearing a green shirt, but the lint is not green.

Strange that it migrates upward from your skivvies though. So in order to get green bellybutton link, I'd have to wear green underwear. That's something you don't really see everyday.
