okay, here's the deal. we're going to determine, BY SCIENCE, just how long we can go before a thread deforms and mutates. so, post the numerical representation of your age (i.e. 18, 40, etc.) and NOTHING MORE.

note: hanle y and hanle y related posts are discounted.

Doesn't that already count as a mutation? 27.

27. Ha ha, it's over. I'm the same age as Samantha and so the freaky database won't let me put just 27.

Madchen, Wednesday, 10 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh fuck, and now everyone knows I'm stupid because Trevor is 27 too but intelligent enough to put XXVII and not mouth off about how clever he is in this thread thus destroying the experiment.

toraneko, Wednesday, 10 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Two six.

Tom, Wednesday, 10 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

And now I'm even dumber because Samantha didn't just put 27. This means that there is a conspiracy to make me look dumb and it is orchestrated by the database (that told me I couldn't put my answer in because it wasn't unique and it said I had to change something). I'm scared now.

Like Richard, I toyed with the idea of representing my age in hexadecimal, but the words of Jess echoed in my head "post the numerical representation of your age... and NOTHING MORE."

I then realised that hexadecimal was an ALPHA-numerical form of representation, thus transgressing Jess' rules. Then again, I guess I'm doing that now.

What does it all mean??

Trevor, Wednesday, 10 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

In 2001, I was 19, so 19-2001.

I don't mind fat noses in real life. It's just the emoticon one that I am railing against. But then I'm not an emoticonist in the first place.

6.77315 x 10^8 s (6sf) [I probably went wrong somewhere, but I assume nobody will be bored enough to check] Excuse for fanciness: someone's already posted the more obvious form of my answer. Excuse for posting when experiment has already died: erm, none.

Rebecca, Wednesday, 10 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I just got very excited about certain numbers such as 22.4 and 6.02 etc. and then realized no one here would get excited because without the context it would be very unamusing (so it is only amusing to about five people total). What a disappointment.
