I don't know of anyone who's ALWAYS on ILE. I mean, we have to sleep sometimes. ;-)

I have a rule now that I don't do it at home. Because I am compulsive about these things, and it's OK to use it as a break from the monotony of work routine, but it's not OK as to use it as escape from my real life. I like my real life (mostly) at the moment, so I don't need it as an escape.

I can't speak for anyone else, though.

Kate 22 (kate), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, tricky. Bit of both. It's like the drunks in the corner of the pub - you're glad they're there, and it would be straneg if they went, but you're glad that they have nothing to do with YOU.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 10:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm strictly 0900-1800, and I'm classic.

Enrique (Enrique), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm on 0900 - 1700 but I'm mostly dud, so there you go. I'm going for some donuts and some ASS to compensate.

Kate 22 (kate), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i was top 6 until the government took the statscock away from us

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

That wasn't the government, it was the Canadians. Dammit!

::starts up a rousing chorus of "Blame Canada"::

Kate 22 (kate), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

easy there, missy...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

people who are always on ilx but complain about "ilx" as though it was something apart from themselves classic or dud?

amateur!st (amateurist), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, that's classic cause it's just so damned funny.

Kate 22 (kate), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

its a fine line between funny and miserable

amateur!st (amateurist), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

People who post rhetorical questions in the body of the thread yet in the form of a thread title, appended with "classic or dud?", classic or dud?

Noah Webster, Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

If it's a "well known troll" type, then it's funny.

Kate 22 (kate), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

am i a well known troll kate?

amateur!st (amateurist), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't... think... so, Am.

::trying to remember::

My new guppie memory of who I've fought with and who I haven't, is actually proving to be very good at me being a kinder and gentler Kate!

We all know who the typical "I am not part of the ILX hegemony" who has been here so long that he's become part of the flora and fauna troll is. (is that gramatically correct?)

Kate 22 (kate), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah it sorts of reminds me of the old guy in rules of the game who has the last line.

amateur!st (amateurist), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

a line he'd previously said at least twice.

amateur!st (amateurist), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not always on ILX.... hnmmph

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Son, me and your mother have been talking. We're worried about you. Um, there's really no easy way to ask this, is there? Are you on the ILX?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

*whistles idly*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)

*idolises wistfully*

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not really here.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

DSL has been my downfall.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

*idolises wistfully*

No need to be scared. You're gonna be so happy. Etc.

Tenacious Dee (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 11 December 2003 06:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Back to original message, though --

This is my main source of entertainment, man! Though I'm not always here. Sometimes I'm far away from anywhere where I could access "here". So there. And you're stuck with me because this place is damned addictive. Curse you all for being such interesting and insightful people! ;)

Tenacious Dee (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 11 December 2003 06:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Office hours only, and even then only during quiet periods; it's a good idea for me not to take any aspect of ILx outside a 9-5 basis. I am gradually weaning myself off ILx; there's no denying the immense help that it has been to me in the recent past, but equally there's no denying that I'm now in a new life and it's time, really, for me to let go.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 11 December 2003 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i think this is for the best, you have outgrown it now. it is wise to realise when it is time to move on

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 11 December 2003 09:10 (twenty-one years ago)

been on it a lot more lately (meaning six months) than usual but that's dwindling a bit as well, and good. I still love the hell out of it, though.

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 11 December 2003 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

heh, i'm pretty sure amateur!st and kate are talking about two different people above

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 11 December 2003 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Je vais et je viens. Mainly vais, I guess.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 11 December 2003 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm on a lot during the day, and often at night if i'm a little bored or in between msn conversations..

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 11 December 2003 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i think so too

amateur!st (amateurist), Thursday, 11 December 2003 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to take a shower to wash my hair, but I can't seem to pull myself away from ILX long enough. Do I have some sort of psychological disorder?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 11 December 2003 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 11 December 2003 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

yes...

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 December 2003 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm cured. Well, my hair is clean anyway...

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 11 December 2003 13:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I COULD always be on ILX, but then I'd end up red-eyed, bleary and inarticulate. I had to cut back a bit, when I realised I wasn't answering email for 2 hours.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 11 December 2003 21:49 (twenty-one years ago)

ILX is my new IRC.

may pang (maypang), Thursday, 11 December 2003 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

ilx was always my new iskra. funny that.

brian badword (badwords), Thursday, 11 December 2003 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

may tragically otm.

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 11 December 2003 22:28 (twenty-one years ago)

*gets out of bed* Who's been eating my poppy seed loaf?

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 11 December 2003 22:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Dang. My cover's been blown.

may pang (maypang), Thursday, 11 December 2003 22:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was going to be dangerous once I got internet at home again, but it hasn't been too bad. Luckily it doesn't seem like there's a lot of action in between when I leave work and when I go to bed. With no tv or internet at home, I really got to enjoy reading and practicing a lot more, and I'd like to maintain that in spite of the cruel grip of ILX.
