I have a (even more expensive) Laser Disc player and maybe 30 or 40 discs. The video and sound quality is very good (some say better than DVD because no compression is used, hence the larger disc size) but since nobody rents laserdiscs anymore (and very few did to start with) it mostly just sits there. I refuse to buy a DVD player because I don't want all this equipment cluttering up my apartment and my life. The only complaint with the laserdisc is the side change. Most of the machines do it automatically, but you've got to wait maybe 15 seconds. Not really a big deal.

Not as cheap as you'd expect. Most titles are still around $15.00... I'd pick a few up if they were around $5.00.
