Battlebots: Classic or Dud

I see battlebots as a unintentional pardoy of all sports, hence it's existance on the Comedy Channel. If it had appeared as a sketch on Monty Python, it would have seemed ungood in comparison to the other sketches, but not out of character.

In Japan, they value ability at videogames almost as much as they value ability at sports or sex. There are t.v. shows about how to obtain more skill, more power at games like Virtual Fighter or Capcom vs. SNK 2. I for one would much rather watch two skilled payers of Street Fighter 2 duke it out than two Robots, or look at football being played. CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

I am praying for a "Behind the Battlebots" look at the sordid lives of the nerds behind the joysticks.

Actually, I'd prefer to see the hardware itself give testimonial to past days of living in the fast lane, and the tragedies that followed.

battle bots is SO SO inferior to robot wars, the UK versh, or at least it's current incarnation. it suffered from too much faffing about in the first series (obstacle courses, things in the floor etc) until they realised that all ppl are interested in is the FITEING. STAB CHOP SPIN FLIPTHEBASTARDOUTOFTHEARENA etc... high quality sunday morning telly ;)

HATE IT. NOT FUNNY. Take that show and "Win Ben Stein's Money" and shove 'em both up your ass. (I'm speaking to no one in particular). It's comedy central. Let's not have it go the way of MTV, which is supposed to play MUSIC. Comedy Central is supposed to be FUNNY, not assoholic game shows.

Beautiful Soppy, sappy and in the equal effect. The point is that I do not believe in the thunderbolt, or the idea of the soulmates - with which the film or larger panders of width. Nevertheless I find the model narratif and the visual beauty sucks you in good more than films that many imperfections (excessively nice and lead of gamine, tweeness) washed above me. Fortunately the lead and the film (both are pretty much intertwined) have a side in black which returns the loveliness of the remainder of him bearable. That indicated that I am still intrigued by large film lost in his heart - Amelie starring Emily Watson. I think that the racist slur which was attatched with him is a little a red herring. Its taste indicating the hill of Notting is racist because it is not any black in him. There is not certainly a rule of white only for the additional expenses in film, and there when you look at it really is not that many digs characters. A its as much film about Paris which the hill of Notting is a film about London - all the touchstones are there but its manufacture of any large gesture. Certainly one of films of the year, just because of extraordinary sound rythmn -- Peter (pb14@soas.ac.uk),

Without Final Fight 3 there would be no western civilisation

it's wonderful. the only sport i can watch. although the UK _robot wars_ is generally more entertaining because they have one guy doing commentary and he actually is, on occasion, funny. unlike the two high school football-level guys on _battlebots_.

i do wonder, though, with all the horizontal spinning disc designs currently winning everything, if anyone's going to feel like designing a decent robot merely to watch it ripped to shreds.
