Fun = Classic. And since I'm feeling peaceful toward the whole world at present, I'll leave it at that.

Tenacious Dee (Dee the Lurker), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Bless you, child.

Sometimes fun is this fleeting, idyllic, wonderful thing. And then you go home or your friends leave or whatever and you're slammed back into reality and holy shit I sound like such the optimist here. I should shut the fuck up.

Here's to lasting fun. That indeed is classic. And the smaller bits of fun--you go for whatever you can get.

"I would never do anything so vulgar as have fun"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 24 December 2003 20:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Bless you, child.

*snort* I'm probably older than you, but thanks anyway.

*comfort hugs to Julia*

dud.

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 25 December 2003 04:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Fun sucks as a goal. I've pretty much stopped going to nightclubs etc. because everyone seems so fucking desperate to HAVE FUN AT ALL COSTS, it's like a contest to see who can have THE MOST FUN. And being the contrary person I am, my reaction is to drop out of the race and be miserably bored. But boredom is kind of a dud too.

jewelly (jewelly), Thursday, 25 December 2003 06:39 (twenty-one years ago)

grumble, i'm too old for fun. it always goes on too long and i wanna go home to my cats and chamomile tea just when everyone else is still warming up. parties go on too long, gigs start too late, don't even get me started on drunken "adventures"...

petra jane (petra jane), Thursday, 25 December 2003 06:45 (twenty-one years ago)

What about if you choose to view fun not as something that can only be had at some raucous club or after a night of general debauchery, but a goal one can attain with even something as basic as a simple drive to and from a particular place, or a quiet moment spent alone with just a book and a cup of hot tea to keep you company? I've had plenty of moments of fun over the course of the past month, none of which occurred because of any sort of drunken escapades or any sort of flashy nightlife. In fact, I never partake of any of that.

I suppose I'm just an elderly woman trapped inside the body of a soon-to-be 24 yr old, hm? ;)

Tenacious (Insomniac) Dee (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 25 December 2003 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Fun is everywhere.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 25 December 2003 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 25 December 2003 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Hence I am here on Wobbs morning because there is fuck all else to do till my brothers get here.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 28 December 2004 19:30 (twenty years ago)

because everyone seems so fucking desperate to HAVE FUN AT ALL COSTS

i refer to situation where fun is consciously sought as "fun"--so if we are going out to a club or something we are going out to have "fun"

ryan (ryan), Tuesday, 28 December 2004 19:36 (twenty years ago)

My father once told me "I don't believe in fun. I believe in fulfillment."

Hurting (Hurting), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 05:29 (twenty years ago)

Your father is a wise man, and I agree with him in principle.

Pears can just fuck right off. (kenan), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 05:37 (twenty years ago)
