this is the thread where I warn everyone to stay away from "Paycheck"

John Woo is turning into Sam Peckinpah circa "The Osterman Weekend".

This movie is receiving generously middling reviews, I've yet to read one that speaks the truth: this movie is by far the worst that Affleck has released in 2003. And that's saying something.

I mean does this mean we can expect Woo's "Convoy" next, coz that would be awesome. Jet Li as a grizzled midwestern truck driver.

He already made his "Cross of Iron" with "Bullet in the Head".

You're right, "Osterman" was definitely better than "Paycheck". Affleck's career is bottoming out completely.

"And the attempts of the Allcom security staff to deal with the various locks and alarms in their top-secret lab had me thinking of "Dumb and Dumber." There are countless fascinating possibilities involved in Philip K. Dick's story, and I'm kind of sad that the ones ranking highest in the minds of the filmmakers was the opportunity to have chase scenes and blow stuff up real good."

we went and saw it last night, full of giggles wondering how they could destroy a Philip K Dick story. And DID THEY EVER! Stuff got to blow up! Any bit of intrigue? Fuck that, here's the plot laid out for you in several overly-wordy paragraphs! look, ben affleck's character MUST be a genius, cuz, like, he's an engineer and wears glasses and stuff!

It's like "Minority Report" as if made by the producers of "V.I.P."

Uma Thurman must be glad Kill Bill 2 is coming out soon, to wash away the memory of this.
