who is staying in on new years?
i am.
I am home for the holidays, but none of my friends are. Also, I'm in a really lame city, with nothing fun happening. so I am sitting on my computer with coke and potato chips waiting it out.
I feel kinda stupid.

If it makes you feel any better, my six-months-pregnant wife and I would love nothing more than to stay home this evening, but we're sort've obligated to make at least a cameo at a friend's party (which started fifteen minutes ago). ::::sigh:::::

NYE's been and gone here already, ya slow buggers ;P

I stayed in, with my lovely boi, a balcony covered in soft furnishings, candles, clear sky full of stars, and fireworks to listen to. Rather nice really.

I'm in for now. Will go hang out with my drunk friends in a few hours when they back from a lame show I didn't want to go to ('cuz I don't like the band, and 'cuz my ex might be there, and 'cuz it's six bucks, and 'cuz I don't have a car...)

My extended family is here. Great aunts, grandparents, cousins, aunt & uncle. Not everyone, but it's still nice. Lonely, though. Was drinking earlier then felt a bit sick, so stopped. Will start again later fer sure.

Well, I just got off the fone with my girl and i'm happier cos she isn't mad at me anymore. so i'm feelin pretty good right now.
i think tomorrow im gonna finish sewing my pants and move my buttons on my shirt cuff so it'll fit me better and not go over my hand and look stupid.

I spent some time with relatives I don't normally see on special occasions such as these this New Year's Eve/Day. It was... interesting. We usually fall into the routine of celebrating New Year's Eve/Day with a certain group of (VERY rowdy) relatives, but mercifully they were going to be out of town, so we got spared the near-chaos of that situation. What I ended up doing was being glued to the TV set, where a local channel was airing the local NYE festivities followed by a local retrospective. Was shocked at how some of the songs selected to play during the local fireworks display were actually quite close to my fangirlish heart, especially one of them. (And I feel no need to disclose anything further, considering you'd probably be able to fill in the blanks already.) So it was sorta like being at home, except more sociable and with better food. :)

p.s.: I did try to drink a glass of champagne down, but could only sip half of it. Sorry guys. No even-remotely-close-to-getting-buzzed-ness tonight.

I talked on the phone to a couple of people who were pretty drunk. They were talking about how the wide champagne glasses were supposedly designed to be shaped like Marie Antoinette's tits, and speculating about which were left and which were right. Then I went to bed after midnight, after spreading my sleepy boredom on AIM a bit. Whoo.
