WORLD JUNIOR HOCKEY ACTION!

GOLD MEDAL ROUND!

Canada leads, 3 to 1!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:22 (twenty-two years ago)

duh.

Orbit (Orbit), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Dear Canada, you are an asshole.

dean gulberry (deangulberry), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

The USA have not turned the game around. They are foreign devils. They have not won the match with a last minute penalty.

comical ali (blueski), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:27 (twenty-two years ago)

actually, the Canadian Comical Ali is Don Cherry:
http://graphics.boston.com/images/daily/07/cherry.jpg

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Other canadians should just give up on humor, they will not better Don.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn, Savage Steve Austin has aged badly.

(xpost)

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still sad that the Don Cherry CD I sent Lara Byrne didn't get to her. She could've made up a good dance to Stompin' Tom's "The Hockey Song".

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

That is indeed a tragedy.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I sent her some maple syrup as well (which is probably why the package didn't get to her). She could've chugged it while doing the dance.

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

you can't chug maple syrup, it's too thick!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:34 (twenty-two years ago)

WATCH SUPER TROOPERS!!!

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Air hockey? I live in California, that's the only hockey we know about.

andy, Monday, 5 January 2004 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

OK but we're still ahead of Portugal right?

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Monday, 5 January 2004 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes. Whoever loses (which will be you, the USA) still gets the silver medal, which isn't bad...for losers!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Don is still better at this.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

yayayyyyyyy for ilx keeping me updated when the tsn site is too bogged down¡

dyson (dyson), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Have you ever noticed how many deodorant ads there are during hockey games?
As if a bunch of ad execs got together and thought about it for a long time and finally came to the conclusion that people who watch lots of hockey tend to smell bad.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

that and truck ads.

dyson (dyson), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

dyson, you should get a job where they have five TVs hanging from the ceiling. It's like a sports bar in here.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoever loses (which will be you, the USA) still gets the silver medal, which isn't bad...for losers!

Game ain't over til the last bloody nose, Huck.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Finland was also pretty stoked.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

dyson (dyson), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

dyson (dyson), Monday, 5 January 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't know¡
besides fleury is/was a good goalie up intil the 3rd - i'm sure he'll do good in a shoot-out.

dyson (dyson), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

fleury has looked lost all tournament

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Monday, 5 January 2004 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

SHouldn't this thread be deleted as it is severely embarrassing to me?

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I had forgotten about this excellent thread. Go Canada!

deanomgwtf!!!p%3Fmsgid%3D4581997 (deangulberry), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Dear Canada,

You gave us hockey dominance so in return we shall give you back Shania Twain, thx

Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, we're taking back Spider-Man, fuckers.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I also vote for the return of Celine Dion, k thx bye.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

We're keeping Neil Young and Neko Case though.

Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe we can work something out. We'll take back Celine Dion, but you guys have to keep Chandler, okay?

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

She should move to Monaco or something. We don't want her back. Pro hockey doesn't really count as far as national comparisons go as Tampa and Calgary have roughly the same number of Canadians on each team. As a former Winnipeg Jets fan I'm having a little bit of trouble cheering for Calgary.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

We'll keep Chandler, but you have to take back Jason Priestly, Keanu Reeves (ha, canadian citizen!) and Alan Thicke.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Also Margot Kidder - we have enough crazy people.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Like you guys have even noticed Alan Thicke was there in the last 10 years.
Keanu, I think, we'll hold before extraditing him to England where he inevitably will be tried for crimes against John Constantine.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

You can Avril and Alanis back, too. Free of charge. And I don't want to see Paul Shaffer around here anymore, either.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Remember that episode of "Hunter" when Hunter couldn't arrest that Canadian guy because he had "diplomatic immunity"? Fuck that shit, you can't send your crooks down here hiding behind that anymore.

Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

BUT WHO WILL TAKE WILLIAM SHATNER?

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

"Just try it, Hunter. I work for the Canadian government."

dead Canadian. This federal election campaign is so dull without Doug. x-post

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Life in general is dull without Doug.

dyson (dyson), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I still have a Natural Law party button. In Doug's honour I am going to put it on my jacket.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

You know, the rate the reform party is promising things, the idiots that fell for the provincal Liberals in Ontario just might swing to Reform and get hosed again.
I'd like to apologize to the rest of the country if Ontario swings to Harper and fools. Not that the other two parties are much better but still.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 21:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I appreciate your pre-emptive apology, Mr. Noodles. I realized today that there actually is a (very small) chance of Harper taking this cake home, and it worries me. Not just because of what the consequences of that might be (though mainly that, I mean, these are the people who gave Larry Schneider the Family Issues dossier), but also because of what that means for the general state of the democratic process (which applies no matter the result really): that the private ambitions of one man (Paul Martin) have allowed our fine country to be railroaded. I think in the long-term, no matter what the result of the June 28 polling, Paul Martin could wind up being every bit as disastrous to Canada as Brian Mulroney was.
Not that I loved Chretien, or that he wasn't a petty s.o.b. himself, but really, I'm so sick of these egotists.

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 00:38 (twenty-one years ago)

We'll keep this guy.
