King and Queen, corner of Foley St and Cleeveland St, Just North of Oxford St and just east of Great Portland. Why there? Adnams Ales and 2 seconds from my work. I won't be there till I get off at 8.

Any takers?

Ed (dali), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

What counry is this in again?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

London, is there another country? everything else is just zone 7.

Ed (dali), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

State your citizenship:

London [ ]
Zone 7 [X]

I'm a proud septazonian. Nothing against London. Nice empire, it is.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

If it carries on like this there will be at least London FAP for every week of 2004.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe you'll all drink yourselves to death.

fiddo centington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

i know i just said this on the mitch thread, but i think it bares repeating:

i cannot come to this as i am going to see JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE on thursday...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

You lucky bastard.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

As an Amurican, Jan 8th means one thing... The King's birthday. Elvis, that is.

andy, Monday, 5 January 2004 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

no, I think you'll find it's my birthday, but I don't think I'll be there.

not Vicky but Chris (Vicky), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i might be able to come on thursday. thursdays are generally cheese nights, but i don't know if that'll happen or not this week. so put me down as a maybe.

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

What do you mean by 'cheese nights'?

Alfie (Alfie), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street, unless I am much mistaken.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I was thinking either:

a) Colette likes to spend Thursdays cataloguing her cheese collection.

or

b) Thursday's the night Colette stays in to watch DIY SOS.

I hadn't thought about the possibility of:

c) There are seven pubs that Colette visits in a strict rotation.

Alfie (Alfie), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 14:30 (twenty-one years ago)

yep. the group of friends that i've been adopted into meets weekly at the cheshire cheese on fleet street. we're still looking for a suitable replacement (without as many suits, actually), but for the time being it's kind of a standing engagement.

which people are welcome to crash, if they'd like to meet my friends. they let me crash, and now i'm a regular!

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

wow, alfie, that would be brilliant if i had a pub-a-day rotation!

although if it didn't mean a night out with mates, i would think it would mean the night that i check the cheese that i'm making in my back shed.

(can you actually do that?)

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

The pub-a-day rotation reminds me of the underwear kids at school used to have that had the day of the week embroidered on them.

Alfie (Alfie), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

For "kids at school" read Alfie obv. Either that or you spent an inordinate amount of time looking in other peoples pants for a child.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

No, no, no, I've never worn weekly pants. I just had a zest for reading.

Alfie (Alfie), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I bought some pants today! In H&M. They're green.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 16:23 (twenty-one years ago)

i gave someone days of the week socks last year for christmas. his flatmate loves them because then we can tell when he spent a night out!

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Barry Lasagne Verdi

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

although the way the next couple of weeks are shaping up, it wouldn't be that hard to do a days of the week pub thing.

not that i'm volunteering to do this, by the way. i just thought some of you more obsessive people might want to try...

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 16:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Is this actually happening? Haven't been to a FAP in at least 2 weeks. Going into withdrawl. Or is there another one?

the river fleet, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i think so, i will drop by anyway i think

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be going because I won't be able to go to any next week. Will be there from 8ish (depends on next shift arriving on time).

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

What's going on next week? Sheesh, I'm out of touch. This will all change when I get my new Mac. Heh heh. I was going to ask yer advice about a new Mac, Ed, but I've made the decision already.

I probably will go tomorrow because I'm feeling the cabin feever. Which means I should write down the name and address of the pub so I don't end up wandering around Fitzrovia or whatever that neighbourhood is called, feeling lost and anxious.

the river fleet, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

kate, wait till after the 16th to buy your new mac as it will come preloaded with garage band. as for directions cross tottenham crt road, walk along goodge st, right into cleevland st and the pub is on the first corner.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

next week there is the second mitch fap on monday, karaoke on thursday and football/pub/my boy's party on saturday.

that should be enough to help with cabin fever, right?

colette (a2lette), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

''second mitch fap on monday''

you mean the first?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:35 (twenty-one years ago)

no, the first was in december

colette (a2lette), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I might come to this, although not drinking much.

Anna at Toby's (tsg20), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be drinking just enough.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, the prices will go up after Jan 16, won't they? Slight sale on at the moment. And argh, I don't know if I will get it here or in the US, as it will be much cheaper over there. (Heh, stupid exchange rates.)

I guess I should come to the FAP and we can talk about it in more detail.

I'm scared of Karaoke. Very scared. But if you're having a FAP, I'll try to come. Are there threads for the other FAPs? I've only got half an hour left online (stupid expensive web cafes cause the cheap one is closed) and I'm trying to finish emails to people I owe...

the river fleet, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

the two mitch related ones are on the original mitch FAP thread (mon and thursday) and the football one is on it's own thread. i'm not sure about football and i can't come on thursday although i'm desperate to do karaoke, but i'll be there monday! and maybe thursday (see above)

colette (a2lette), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

kate how was that wine? sorry if it was crap, i heard it was, from my boss (we all got the same, apparently last year's was better)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 13:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Looks like i'll be in London at the end of April, don't want to arrange anything just yet as all my FAP attempts seem to go pear shaped.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate - MitchFAP London Monday 15th

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 14:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I'll show up for tomorrow's too, as I think I'm starting to readjust to getting up early enough for work. I'll be there around 6, I should think.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

bump

Ed (dali), Thursday, 8 January 2004 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

raaay

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 January 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i might come out early doors, there's drinks for a friend's birthday after work but only til 6. but i've said i'll be home for dinner so i doubt i'd be out past 8.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 8 January 2004 14:11 (twenty-one years ago)

you didn;t find my bag then toby? it's weird, that's the last place i remember seeing it - in your kitchen. but i'm 50% sure i took it with me when i left. only i can't recall seeing it since...

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 January 2004 14:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Depending on how I feel, I might come along, but if I do it'll be Gareth-time.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 8 January 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

bleh. the server at work is all weird today so i've been able to play here and access word documents but not email, even from hotmail.

therefore, i don't know what the cheese plans are. so i might come along later. if not, have fun!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 8 January 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry steve, meant to get back to you - we haven't seen anything, my flatmate will check her room tomorrow though. there wasn't anything in our kitchen.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 8 January 2004 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm there dude

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 8 January 2004 16:59 (twenty-one years ago)

?????

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:00 (twenty-one years ago)

in spirit, not person of course

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't come to this after all, boo

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:09 (twenty-one years ago)

graaagh, get me out of here

Ed (dali), Thursday, 8 January 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Leaving in about 15 minutes.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 8 January 2004 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

leaving imminently

Ed (dali), Thursday, 8 January 2004 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Well atended, thanks all; Martin, Anna, Lixi, Kate, Gareth, Stevem, Mark S, Gareth, Suzy, Matt and Chris (suzy Mpls friends), hope I didn't forget anyone.

Incidentally, if we ever do do a whisky FAP, that would be the place to do it, 30+ whiskies and 15 odd whiskeys.

Ed (dali), Friday, 9 January 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

a nice pleasant descent into horrible horrible ruin

stevem (blueski), Friday, 9 January 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

You know what? I feel fine. I was up at 8:30 (I know several of you were up earlier to be at work, but I don't have to get up). I wasn't particularly drunk.

Anna (Anna), Friday, 9 January 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i didn't think i was although this would be a handy excuse for the nonsense i was spouting last night. i should really stop that.

stevem (blueski), Friday, 9 January 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Shooting dice in the alley again?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 9 January 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

metaphorically yes

stevem (blueski), Friday, 9 January 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

It was fun. I'm not as ruined as I expected to be. I think that this ruse of drinking a half pint for every full pint that everyone else drinks actually works, dagnabbit!

I am disappointed that we went to Espana but the Ahrriman didn't turn up.

Gareth, if those photos of Stevem's hair come out, I will pay good money for them!

the river fleet, Friday, 9 January 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

is he going for the Professor Colin Pillinger look these days?

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 9 January 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

How hard would that rock? Is there life on Mars? Who cares? Is there HAIR on Mars?

The Camden New Journal had an article about losing the Beagle 2. Complete with really adorable photos of Alexander the James. Awwwwww.

the river fleet, Friday, 9 January 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

apparently the Hairy Man was there, but i don't know what he looks like.

Steve The Inappropriate (blueski), Friday, 9 January 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

ha ha! I had forgotten about our Appellations! Excellent.

Of course we didn't see the Ahrriman, he's a near eastern mythological figure after all. We weren't drunk enough to see him!

Damn, I have five minutes left online and I still haven't booked a flight. Grrrrrr.

the river fleet, Friday, 9 January 2004 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I had a great time - me and Sinkah were the first ones there, ages before anyone else, and I can't think of a better ILXer to be in that position was. Most of the rest of the evening I spent talking to lovely young woman decades younger than me - cis, Lixi and Anna.

I won't credit it, but the best line of the evening was "One year, everyone I slept with emigrated."

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 9 January 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

oh that's what you were laughing so heartily about - i did wonder

stevem (blueski), Friday, 9 January 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I miss London.

Barima (Barima), Saturday, 10 January 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)
