This is the thread where we rather self-indulgently discuss our health kicks for 2004, ideally with support and encouragement for all.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

What, again Mark? Didn't you do one of those last year?

I like to start you off in a supportive manner.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I weighed in at 13 stone 5 pounds (187 pounds) this morning, and want to shift 12 pounds by my birthday (16th March). I already succumbed to my first full-fat mocha this afternoon, but otherwise it's going okay.

So - how you doin'?

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Sarah, I do one every year. I lose weight at the start of the year, bottom out in the spring, start eating like a pig during the summer holidays, continue through autumn, then December I go mental and put on half a stone. It's just the way it is.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I am pondering going swimming - but not for FAT issues (although they are horrific) but because I fancy a good splash about.

The main problem with this however is SWIMMING COSTUMES. Urgh. Where do you find a nice 50s one that covers you up nicely, that's what I want to know.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Finally, a forum for my rant about the Atkins diet... what a load of crap! Since the early years of the Fertile Crescent, the whole development of mankind has sprung from the cultivation of vegetable-based carbohydrates... rice, wheat, rye, potatoes, yams, etc. This is what separates us from our caveman brothers... and now carbs are out? After 5000 years, now carbs are bad for you? And you should eat steak everyday like a wolfman?

(Yesterday I saw a fast food commercial with their new "low-carb" burger... it didn't have a bun, just wrapped in lettuce. I'm still livid.)

andy, Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

good luck with your health endeavours, mark. i am mostly posting here to echo sarah's question about 50s bathing suits. i have been looking for one of those for ages, though in bikini style, i love that full bikini look.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i just stayed up all night, what the fuck?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Bikinis are a good topic for any thread.

As for the Atkins diet, anyone tried it? What's it like? Does it work?

Surely I can't be the only person on this bitch trying to lose weight? Maybe y'all have some kind of privacy thing going on.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:07 (twenty-one years ago)

you sayin' i'm fat?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I just didn't want to post because while I'm quite unhappy with myself and am "determined" to lose the US equiv of a stone within the next month or two, my "determination" did not prevent me from just chowing down full force on a bacon cheeseburger and large fries from BURGER KING of all places (I haven't had fast food in approx 3 years). Of course this is due to PMS but still.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I just want to get in shape. I'm not going to piss anyone off by saying I'm overweight because I'm hardly that, but I seriously need to get in shape for my health's sake. This, of course, means I have to move my ass until I break a sweat. Which means I need motivation. Which means....fuck it.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally, do you have the opportunity to exercise it off? It's only one meal, so if you have a light dinner you'll be fine.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I am thinking of starting my diet soon (I made and froze a big batch of vegetable soup) but then yesterday I ate four donuts.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

That rocks!

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Well all I ever do is run up and down stairs and lift things and run around all day so it's not like I'm just sitting around in front of a computer or a television, so I guess it's not so bad.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

This happens to me every winter, though. When I can't go to the park after work and walk beause it's too cold and dark out, I don't move much. And I am so anti-gym (for myself, not others), it's not even funny.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Markelby, and others, do you keep a food diary? I find that helps.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Rosemary, I tried last year - I found it hard to quantify stuff so I gave. What I do kind of do is figure out if each day is a positive, neutral or negative day diet-wise and I add them up each week - so a 4 positive, 2 neutral and 1 negative week is pretty satisfactory (and about the best I can manage). It works pretty well.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm opposed to the Atkins diet, but I thoroughly recommend keeping an eye on your calorie intake.

And exercise, natch.

Good luck, yo!

miss marianna (ken c), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 21:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm now doing low saturated fat and lower carb. I will soon be thinking about pasta when I masturbate.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 21:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I want a fifties style bathing suit too. The nearest I can find is $80 because it is some robust sport racing style by Speedo. How can that be right?

Jeanne, I am very anti-gym as well, but have been succeeding in going for a while. First find a cheap one. Then go early in the morning so you miss the body beautiful people. My timing coincides with the cardiac recovery people, so it is very non-intimidating (though I do nervously study the CPR posters on the walls). All I can really say for this is that its easier than controlling what I eat.

isadora (isadora), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

i got the best 50's-esque bathing suit at an old school lingerie shop when i was visiting my parents over the holidays. it's a black and white large floral pattern with white trim, and offers very full coverage. i was trying not crack up the whole time in the dressing room as two elderly sales ladies insisted on coming in with me and talking to each other the whole time as they slapped and prodded at me: "she doesn't need one with shirring - she's firm up here" (whap on the bosom)
"i think we only need to bring in the strap an inch. her waist is longer than i thought" (poke in the flank)

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

50 pounds overweight. Yet another opportunity to start dieting, lose all concentration, feel unable to write anything whenever I've eaten anything with less fat than, say, donner kebab and fries, and then giving up at some point circa January 21st. The diet starts on Saturday. I'll never manage it.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I could do with losing enough weight to go down a few dress sizes or so. I would actually be thrilled if I could lose enough so where I'd weigh about 150 lbs or so. The last time I weighed that much I was in the eighth grade. I kid you not. So yeah, implementing a personally tailored program that reduces my personal caloric intake and gets me exercising more than the walk to and from parking lots would be rather nice.

Tenacious Dee (Dee the Lurker), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 23:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I have seen the atkins diet work- though you need to supplement with excellent vitamins, and possibly some essential minerals aswell. YOu shouldnt be trying to do much physical work, energy levels may not cope. You can eat mayonaise and cheese, its certainly not the most difficult diet but you must be disciplined. I would say regular exercise is the best way to get the pounds off though and I am a dietitian. No im not actually but it makes sense, good luck.

jeskam, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I will soon be thinking about pasta when I masturbate.

This phrase will haunt me now. Especially since I had some pasta for dinner.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 03:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I just can't understand how the Atkins Diet can be that healthy for you, but it certainly seems to work for a lot of ppl. I can't do it because I am vegetarian. I am, however, starting a diet on Friday. It's gonna be tough but it's such an easy diet (slimming world) to stick to (cos you get to eat loads) that i should be cool. Cutting down on red wine is gonna be tough though!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 09:50 (twenty-one years ago)

three words:

HOT.
PANTS.
WORKOUT.

Catty (Catty), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm a big fat git - but I just bought the suit for the wedding which fits just right, so I can hardly lose very much weight (let alone the two stone I want to lose) ah well, never mind.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Course you can if you want to. You can always get the suit taken in!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

As noted on the TITtyTWISter thread, I started running again last night. Hopefully this won't be a one-off and I'll keep going at least twice a week and feel magic afterwards rather than about to vomit.

Good luck to everyone else doing the health thang.

robster (robster), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

This is my sixth day on the Atkins diet. I'm finding it easier now. Tough at first (its so bloody restrictive) and it's my first time ever going on a diet (I was 13 and 3/4 stone..i've lost 3 or 4 pounds already). I usually eat pretty much whatever I want, so having to watch what I eat now is all new to me. My mate John went on it last year and lost 1 and a half stone after going on it for 2 weeks so that encouraged me to give it a try. He complained of headaches when he was on his 3rd day. Thankfully, i didnt get any of those and I'm certainly not lacking in energy.

Michael B, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:20 (twenty-one years ago)

It's simple. Get a job in catering. I lost half a stone in December.

Matt (Matt), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

50s swimsuit LADIES!!!

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/rockabillymomma-store/swimsuits.html

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I weigh exactly the same as I did last year, ie 13st 8lb. I am hoping my recent drastic cut in booze consumption will achieve a degree of natural wastage over the next couple of months.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:34 (twenty-one years ago)

As in, swimsuits for ladies. Not just pictures.

Should I get this one?

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Definitely get it!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:38 (twenty-one years ago)

It worries me how some of them are called "playsuits". The 50's must have been peculiar...

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

i think the 50's sounds like a great time to be around. great clothes.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:48 (twenty-one years ago)

You swim and play, do you see?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

xxxxxpost

atkins diet sounds like a crazy idea to me.. lose 2 stones eating just meat - die of heart attack 5 years later. No thanks. Carbohydrate gets burnt off during EXERCISE - I eat like a pig, and i'm still underweight (120 lbs 5'7").

It could have just been that tapeworm i ingested though. Riding my bike to work everyday also makes me feel better about the excessive consumption of curry too.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

It's meat AND vegetables. I think the only way the Atkins diet would be dangerous was if you were to prolong it for more than two weeks. Apparently after 3 days your body is supposed to go into kitosis (sp?) where your body starts to burn off your carbs. And as for exercise, I do go for a 4 mile walk every day (although to be honest its every 2 days)

Michael B, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Last summer's Barbecue of Meat with extra Meat and also Pork Pies and Ham would have put me off the Atkins diet forever if I hadn't already thought it was a load of bollocks.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Pork belly's gonna geeeetcha.

belly belly belly (starry), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I'm already sick of eating sausage and bacon for breakfast when all I really want is a bowl of Corn Flakes but fuck it, I know the Atkins Diet produces results so I'ma gonna stick it out.

Michael B, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

the diet that is not my bubble belly

Michael B, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, Sarah - see other 50's style bathing suit at landsend.co.uk

marianna m, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Now I want this!!! Only $126... *faints*...

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

loads nicer!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay! Shall I book a table at Bodean's? Can we make sure it's facing the telly? 7.30 okay?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:52 (twenty years ago)

I've only lost half a pound this week but it looks very likely that my employer is going to help us out with gym membership *crosses fingers*.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:53 (twenty years ago)

I feel like I'm intruding on this thread!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 21 October 2004 10:03 (twenty years ago)

Well, I haven't been doing much actual dieting, Pink--if I'm not intruding here, I don't think you are :)

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 21 October 2004 10:07 (twenty years ago)

I meant you & Mark telling each other how lovely you looked! ;-)

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 21 October 2004 10:11 (twenty years ago)

oh whoops :/
Well, back to diet talk--does anyone know how to figure out ideal weight/body mass index or whatever? I've taken to weighing myself too often for amusement's sake and it's no real help and I think gives a false picture when I really only count weekly, same-time results. I'm not really sure what my weight *should* be, I guess.

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 21 October 2004 10:18 (twenty years ago)

Only joking! ;-) Mark's right, you look lovely!

I wouldn't be concerned too much with ideal weights. if you feel ok then be guided by that instead. Those weight charts don't really take a lot of factors into consideration.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 21 October 2004 10:27 (twenty years ago)

What Pink says is on the mark, but if you are curious, just google BMI.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 21 October 2004 13:31 (twenty years ago)

I have always found BMI to be too generous.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 21 October 2004 13:39 (twenty years ago)

I went back on Atkins. Haven't weighed myself yet - I just go by pants size. Last year I wore 36-inch jeans (and they were getting snug - I was looking at a size 38 - eep). I had slimmed into a size 33 but they were starting to tighten up on me as of last month. Now they're (almost) exactly right. The next step is to finish the god-blessified renovations at my place so I can set up my home gym again. My musle tone is shamefully bad right now...

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Thursday, 21 October 2004 14:08 (twenty years ago)

I have enormous calf muscles since most of my 'diet' has comprised of walking walking walking. Below my knees I have two little tree trunks.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 21 October 2004 14:44 (twenty years ago)

I wish I knew how you managed that - three months of walking walking walking have done bugger all for my calves. My thighs, on the other hand, are BUFF AS FUCK but that's mainly down to the natural shape of my legs + LOTS OF CYCLING.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 21 October 2004 15:25 (twenty years ago)

Man, see, I have the opposite problem. Walking makes my calves SUPER-BUFF but my thighs... gah.

Kissing Time At The Pleasure Unit (kate), Thursday, 21 October 2004 15:26 (twenty years ago)

my friend is trying to talk me into doing a two-hour pole-dancing class with her this weekend. i can believe that it's amazing for upper body strength, but it's silly money. what to do!

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 21 October 2004 15:37 (twenty years ago)

I think it sounds like a lot of fun, lauren.

I just checked my little weight loss file on the computer and I've lost 16 pounds since July 12th. :-D

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 21 October 2004 16:55 (twenty years ago)

ahh! everytime i read this i feel horrible for how unmotivated i am....

kelsey (kelstarry), Thursday, 21 October 2004 16:57 (twenty years ago)

Kelsey, no!! We need to do something at least semi-exercise-related together. What sounds fun to you? Have you ever taken a yoga class? I haven't and I think it sounds interesting. Maybe we could pick a place and just go to one session to check it out??

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 21 October 2004 16:59 (twenty years ago)

i love yoga . . . i was doing it weekly before my internship & then stopped because i was working so many hours & i felt as though i ought to prioritize the internship. i really want to get back into it . . . i also really want to enjoy running and i want to sculpt my body & give myself some muscles. but yes! we should do yoga! or anything! starting next wednesday i'm taking up the harmonica, so those days are the only days when i have something scheduled....

kelsey (kelstarry), Thursday, 21 October 2004 17:54 (twenty years ago)

I've tried yoga a lot, but I've just got no patience for it. I need something more kinetic in my exercise. I've looking into joining Cheetah up here in aville, but it's damned expensive, and I don't want to have to dress up and wear makeup to go to the gym. I'll just have to ride my bike in the freezing cold to get exercise this winter.

Jeff-PTTL (Jeff), Thursday, 21 October 2004 17:56 (twenty years ago)

x-post K, I'm not up for running. I'll look into yoga. Is there a place you already like to go? The one you used to go to?

Jeff, My winter plan is more of the same (walking walking walking), meaning I might freeze to death.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 21 October 2004 17:58 (twenty years ago)

thus far i'll be riding my bike this winter as well. it'll be my first time riding in the snow . . .
sarah: the place i used to go i'm not sure if it's still there. how are you with all the chanting & stuff?
jeff, my boyfriend goes to the gym by the whole foods on ashland in lakeview. from what he says, he doesn't pay that much . . . although he may have gotten some kind of promo deal or something.

kelsey (kelstarry), Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:08 (twenty years ago)

I wouldn't mind belonging to the gym except they are so fucking EXPENSIVE. Some of that stuff is fun, like the elliptical machine. I actually work in the same building as a CRUNCH GYM, but they look even more expensive than other gyms.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:11 (twenty years ago)

by the way lauren, i think pole-dancing is the exercise that could keep giving back. think of all the amateur nights you can sign up for!

kelsey (kelstarry), Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:12 (twenty years ago)

n-yes. i think i may join the gym at my work. it's $350 for the year & is two blocks away from my job. i could go swimming during my lunch hour or something . . .

kelsey (kelstarry), Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:13 (twenty years ago)

Chanting? I obviously know nothing about yoga. I thought you just get in a sitting position and hold it for a while.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:27 (twenty years ago)

i've been eating a lot of fiber lately. and i think my clothes are fitting better. draw your own conclusions...

paranoia is the hipster's disease (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:36 (twenty years ago)

Drink a lot of water.

Nowell, Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:39 (twenty years ago)

"but I have a hunch that skipping meals anyway slows down metabolism? Anyone know for sure?"

I fear that missing meals makes your metabolism speed up. Because your body goes, "oh no! we are in a poor quality habitat where there is not a lot of food around, we need to make sure that when there is food available we eat lots and super-efficiently transfer it into fat to live off in the hard times to come".

isadora (isadora), Thursday, 21 October 2004 18:46 (twenty years ago)

Doesn't metabolism refer to the burning of fat for energy, so a starved body burns less (lower metabolism) because it knows it may not be replenished soon?

nickn (nickn), Thursday, 21 October 2004 19:02 (twenty years ago)

nickn = yes

kelsey (kelstarry), Thursday, 21 October 2004 19:21 (twenty years ago)

Thanks, nickn, that's what I was thinking.

Skipping meals = bad.

In a semi-related note, I started watching the Arrested Development Series 1 dvd last night and liked this little bit:

Dad: Now, what have I always told you is the most important thing?
Son: Breakfast?
Dad: Um, no. I was thinking of family.
Son: Oh, I thought you meant the most important thing with foods and stuff.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 21 October 2004 19:33 (twenty years ago)

heh.

thanks for confirming my metabolism hunch, y'all.

my boyfriend goes to the gym by the whole foods on ashland in lakeview.

This was my gym when I lived in Chicago--I liked it a lot, it's a Y and I think they're the cheapest to join in the city, at least they were the cheapest that I found when I researched it all. I originally joined because I'd signed up for aikido classes (which I highly recommend! There's a great place near the Belmont stop.) and I was so sore after the first one that I could hardly walk up and down stairs--even moving during my sleep would wake me up, it was so painful. This was due to my lack of shape, rather than the martial arts themselves. Anyway, I decided to work out as well to prevent future soreness and the Y was the cheapest I found. Plus after going I'd stop at whole foods and buy some good vegetables and go home on the El feeling super healthy/smug.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 22 October 2004 08:02 (twenty years ago)

one month passes...
I've reached the 3 stone mark. Was a bit disheartened but i suppose i've only been at it for 4 months, s'not that bad. With a bit of luck i should be on the cuddly side of acceptable in time for my 30th birthday in june when i plan to go to Sonar.

leigh (leigh), Monday, 22 November 2004 11:52 (twenty years ago)

That sounds excellent to me leigh!

I shouldn't be on this thread any more really; the quantities of chocolate raisins I consumed at the weekend testify to me not dieting at all :(

Archel (Archel), Monday, 22 November 2004 13:11 (twenty years ago)

I have lost 1 whole stone. I am now 11 stones 6lbs, I think.

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 22 November 2004 13:13 (twenty years ago)

3 stone in 4 months sounds excellent to me also, Leigh. I'm holding steady in the past month, although I've quit it with the food diary, it was adding too much to my already plentiful neuroses. Holding steady suits me fine, but I fear what 2 weeks in America over the holidays + much less exercise will do.

sgs (sgs), Monday, 22 November 2004 13:18 (twenty years ago)

I suppose the reason that 3 stone doesn't seem a lot to me is that i've still got a fair bit to lose. I'm sure you won't do too much damage in 2 weeks, Sarah.

leigh (leigh), Monday, 22 November 2004 13:28 (twenty years ago)

one month passes...
If my mum's scales are right i've lost almost 4 stone. Xmas overindulgence will probably have scuppered it though.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 14:32 (twenty years ago)

Crumbs, I have the bet of intentions but there's still soooo many chocolates to work through, I won't be able to start my health kick till they're done. That's my excuse.

Rumpy Pumpkin, Wednesday, 29 December 2004 14:48 (twenty years ago)

I joined a gym, I'm going to start going after New Year's.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 14:54 (twenty years ago)

I got a big pail of white chocolate malteasers for xmas which i demolished between xmas day and 27/12. Back on the straight and narrow from now on.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 14:57 (twenty years ago)

I gained 4 pounds this month. I would like to thank the cruise, the alcohol, and holiday chocolates. But both my sister and boyfriend say I was too skinny anyway. What the hell? How come I feel like my "too skinny" isn't even small enough to be the normal person's "normal?"

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 14:58 (twenty years ago)

I used to be delighted with my weight/figure, it was just right, but when I told my mum I once again aspire to get back to that she says "Don't you bother! You looked ill! I thought you were on drugs lassie!"

Families are biased.

Rumpty Pum pum pum, Wednesday, 29 December 2004 15:04 (twenty years ago)

I expect I'm back up to 13 stone. So, see you on this thread in a few days :/

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 15:17 (twenty years ago)

I've lost nearly 20 pounds this year. 16 more to go!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 30 December 2004 03:57 (twenty years ago)

oh, weird, melody nelson. i met you in the dj booth at atomique when ilirjana was dj'ing. we were talking but then te bell rang and i cut off our conversation to hurry and get free red stripe.

i need to gain about 10 pounds.

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 30 December 2004 04:02 (twenty years ago)

I think you're confusing me with someone else.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 30 December 2004 10:15 (twenty years ago)

I'm going to get back to healthier eating & exercise after the new year. It's just got ridiculous again! *sigh*
