I want to do a round robin writing exercise tomorrow. I'm going to have the kids in groups of four, give each student a different prompt and give 2 or 3 minutes to begin writing on their prompt. Then everyone will trade papers to the right, etc. etc. So each group ends up with four collaboratively papers.

All I need is the prompts. You're a creative bunch, ideas?

Hmm, the thread is probably open to piss-taking of an entirely unhelpful type. But I think all you need is a strong idea for them to hang the piece off. A striking image or aspiration. The above, sort of thing, like.

Use magnetic poetry, or something like it. Choose, I don't know, five random words and tell the kids to incorporate them all into a sentence.

You guys rock. These are all good ideas and i will defnitely use a few of them.

I've done the word thing before where I gave them words (once it was Nelly, pudding, goose and clown) and had them write a story. it was fun.

These time I want them to have a story and each add a few lines at a time (favorite bar game of mine actually)
