ILX Film Festival?

I don't know if this will generate any interest, or if it will go the way of the ILX book (hello?) and ILX radio (wha happen?), but I was wondering about the possibilities of "curating" a data CD (or two) along the lines of the ILX comp, but including the cinematic/visual arts work of ILX contributors. I guess it would have to be short films and/or scans of artworks, but I know we have several artists, a couple of filmmakers, and an animator (Mitch) on here.

What is the consensus?

Fat Tony's Cancer should go on there for Miccio's cameo alone.

do animated GIFs count as films?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 16 January 2004 23:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I think so!

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Friday, 16 January 2004 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I think that'd be pretty cool.

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Friday, 16 January 2004 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

that could be neat!

s1ocki (slutsky), Friday, 16 January 2004 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

You gonna submit Torque as your entry @d@m?

Leee Majors (Leee), Friday, 16 January 2004 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Sadly not Leee, because, despite rumors to the contrary, I didn't actually direct Torque.

If only I had! :(

Yeah, I suppose. Hrmm ... maybe we should each list who does what?

Myself - oil painting, video art.

If someone else wants to make the comp I'll definitely send in a copy of Cancer.

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 17 January 2004 00:39 (twenty-one years ago)

But anyways yeah .. who is going to put this all together?

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 17 January 2004 00:40 (twenty-one years ago)

not me, called it!

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 17 January 2004 00:45 (twenty-one years ago)

It really wouldn't take much either ... you could even make a cute DVDR, but then they'd cost like $3.

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 17 January 2004 00:50 (twenty-one years ago)

but I called it!

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 17 January 2004 00:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I will do it but - I don't have a DVD burner, so it would have to be Mpegs.

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Saturday, 17 January 2004 01:58 (twenty-one years ago)

This is shaping up to be the worst film festival/tape circulation ever.

I suppose I can donate my thesis if people really want it. It's about 20 mins long.

ModJ (ModJ), Saturday, 17 January 2004 02:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you redux it to about 2 mins please, Jimmy.

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Saturday, 17 January 2004 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

No.

ModJ (ModJ), Saturday, 17 January 2004 02:03 (twenty-one years ago)

And be thankful I didn't make it longer.

ModJ (ModJ), Saturday, 17 January 2004 02:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Is about suicide or loneliness? Or a frustrated artist or "loner"?

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Saturday, 17 January 2004 02:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm guilty on the loner count, but he was a funny loner!

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Saturday, 17 January 2004 02:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Probably. It's about misery and wom(a)n.

ModJ (ModJ), Saturday, 17 January 2004 02:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, you can have some bits of my paintings, as that's all I can scan!
