So there were some jokes on this thread about remixing me but apparently things are getting serious in some corners, so. Jake at Tape Mountain is up for releasing a collection, so if you're interested/have already done something/whatever, post about it here, make arrangements to send mp3s, link in the mp3s if you like, etc.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 01:56 (twenty-one years ago)

robert ashley to thread.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 01:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Working on one, nearly done, but it got brushed aside for my mashup of Hey Ya and Yeah (Pretentious). Will post back in a day or so when I'm done the latter.

Xii (Xii), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

god I wish I could do this but I don't really have the equipment.

songs I would love to hear Ned's reading "interpolated" with:
LeTour "People Are Still Having Sex"
My Bloody Valentine "What You Want" & "Soon"
the instrumental stereo channel of the Velvet Underground's "The Gift"
Love Unlimited Orchestra, "Love Theme"
Any song by Henry Mancini
Donna Summer "Love To Love You Baby" & "I Feel Love"

Frankly an entire album of Ned Raggett vs. Giorgio Moroder or Ned Raggett vs. Keith Forsey would kick ass.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Frankly an entire album of Ned Raggett vs. Giorgio Moroder

The sound you hear is my girlfriend throwing shoes at my computer in the near future. Thanks.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Or the theme from Steptoe and Son (which, ironically enough, is called "Old Ned")

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:11 (twenty-one years ago)

god I wish I could do this but I don't really have the equipment.

A freeware .wav editor and a computer? I can give you the former, I hope to god you have the latter?

Xii (Xii), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:13 (twenty-one years ago)

These visions intrigue me.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:13 (twenty-one years ago)

my computer is not connected to the net currently (damn it's not like I'm on here enough from labs and at work)

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned, I might hate you even more than I hate Dastoor right now.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Oops.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 02:25 (twenty-one years ago)

ned my remix is trapped in olympia!

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw. :-( Well, it can be an unheard legend.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

should I go fetch it?

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:13 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. burn olympia while you're at it.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:16 (twenty-one years ago)

no, wait, scratch that.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

but when come back bring tim's pickled flavored chips

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned Raggett vs. Hail To The Thief: It's Not Like It Could Get Worse

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 03:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Well I...hey!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 05:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned, I haven't bought your album, sorry, but are there any tracks online?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:19 (twenty-one years ago)

coz I would do an improv mix.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Woohoo! I gather the album has been Soulseeked. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

i need a copy too

Felcher (Felcher), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

no luck on slsk yet

Felcher (Felcher), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe I could just record:

"Song inspired by being unable to hear Ned read the almanac"

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I was shocked to find a few of my songs on slsk. Rah!

They would be hard to slsk since THE TRACKS DON'T HAVE TITLES! I have yelled at Jake about this but really Ned perhaps you could jiggle the CDDB? (Unless you've done this lately and my computer doesn't realize it.)

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Hm, I shall investigate. (And if you don't have a copy -- $2 via PayPal, cheap!)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

It's the only reason you're not on my iPod (and thus we didn't listen to you while trawling across Canada after all).

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:04 (twenty-one years ago)

*weeps bitterest of tears*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:06 (twenty-one years ago)

is it just you reading into a computer mic or is it good sound quality?

Felcher (Felcher), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

fer some reason, i imagine ned's almanac reading being remixed with "bizarre love triangle."

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:08 (twenty-one years ago)

It is me reading into a handheld tape recorder on a summer day in my apartment. Traffic noise lurks in the background.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:09 (twenty-one years ago)

"west end neds"!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:09 (twenty-one years ago)

good enough for me

Felcher (Felcher), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:10 (twenty-one years ago)

consider yourself $2 closer to recouping the expenses.

Felcher (Felcher), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Rah!

"west end neds"!

Sir, you are a genius. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:24 (twenty-one years ago)

SEX DWARF BOOTLEG!

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned I used your lovely reading on 'twilight' in my recently published 'Celestian' mix over the top of a Gus Gus track at the end - it goes pretty well. Unfortunately that file will not be accessible until my site is restored, and i don't know when that will be yet :(

but it's on soulseek.....now

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 21:55 (twenty-one years ago)

:-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 21:59 (twenty-one years ago)

You must pose in a gladiator costume on the cover of the remix cd!

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

of course i wanted to cut your dialogue up so it says 'NED SUPPORTS DEATH RODEO BY DONATION - ALL MUST WORSHIP' but there just aren't enough hours in the day

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

You do what you can. Meanwhile, I will take this gladiator idea under advisement.

(Alternately, we can call it "WE INVENTED NEDMIXES")

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

for my next project i will be remixing '4.33'

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, where is it on soulseek? I am still trying to figure this thingy out.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Probably searching "raggett" would bring up the files you're looking for, unless stevem has labelled them differently.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I realize I have a reputation of being an idiot, but even I thought of trying that.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

er, I've totally never used soulseek and have no idea where it is or how to use it. Can't get it by pay pal either, no credit card. I'm a 19th century boy it would seem. I'll probably send the guy a couple of dollars through the post.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah, checked the link, he's cool with that, hooray for the old ways!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

If you include a note with stick-figure drawings of birds you will possibly make him very happy.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

"Stick-figure birds in G#!" *swoon*

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:48 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Jake is a man of his pleasures.

Meanwhile, Stevem is some kinda genius.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

no i am just clearly obsessed with you on painfully ludicrous levels

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Both work.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh I thought you meant your remix.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:55 (twenty-one years ago)

my mix featuring 'twilight' is the appropriately titled 'buzzharsher' mix in my 'latest' folder

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

And you're "stevem"? If so, you're one of those people I can't seem to browse. Argh.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 22 January 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

on slsk i am blueski

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 22 January 2004 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

shit i WAS blueski, now i am 'base58' sorry

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 22 January 2004 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)
