I really don't know, but if it was that, I'd probably go hunt down the man and murder him myself, dumbass. GET OVER IT. HE WASN'T INTO MEN, OR IF HE WAS, NOT YOU. Fucking Simon Price.

But I've never met a male manics fan who's not absolutely lovely. (Probably cause I've never met Simon Price!!!) Shame about their musical tastes, though. ;-)
It's terrible, because dronerock boys, by and large, are just not lovely. Unless they actually come from Rugby, they tend to be scary and have beards. ;-)
Besides, some dronerock boys are beautiful. Just very few of them. Sonic Boom. Robert out of Loop/Main. The collective members of Sigur Ros. It's just too bad the rest of them look like Mogwai.
Now *that* would be my favourite band of all time. Imagine a gang of boys who *look* like the Manics, but *sound* like Spiritualized. I'd be in heaven. Oh, wait, no, sorry, that's the Dandy Warhols. Hooray! My dreams come true.
Speaking of this combination coming up randomly, have you heard of The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Kate? I keep seeing their video on MTV, and they're truly no good, but they amuse me greatly, because they're like the bastard child of the Dandys and the Manics. They've even got the girl playing keyboard one handed. Their music is a bit punky like early Manics (except crap) and they've got that organ sound like the Dandys (except crap), and behind them in the video - SPRAY PAINTED ANTI-CAPITALISM SLOGANS!
I feel like hugging them and saying, listen, we did this all ten years ago nearly, it's time to move on. Richey is dead, come now, have some tea.
What you would need is some rilly rilly cute boys who did a dronerock lite Ladies and Gentlemen style music; I'd reckon they'd crush Starsailor, the Strokes, etc. And perhaps even get some Smash Hits action.
― Nicole, Monday, 11 June 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link
Except in Smash Hits, of course. They like ugly boys like Justin Timberlake in that one. BTW - Justin Timberlake, what is Britney thinking????
Justin is the absolute nadir of Pearlman's taste. He looks like frickin' Dustin Diamond -- that's supposed to be cute? Even now that he shaved his head he still looks like a tool.
I reckon I should be doing this Pearlman thing, I have way better taste than he does. I mean, hello, Richey, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman and Alex James are all way better looking than Justin Timberlake.
That's scarily close to my "10 I wouldn't kick out of bed" list, so you should take Louis' job.
I think the problem is that I'm not good at catering to people like my teenage sister, who thinks NSync are cute. Unlike my two other teenage sisters, who find NSync repulsive and just listen to David Bowie and Rammstein and smoke pot in their room all day, whatever that's about.
Wow, you really haven't met Simon. He is generally understood to be One Of The Sweetest People Around. And he really is.
As for the club itself, it's pretty cool. They can be a little heavy with the Manics stuff a bit...but not many clubs play Virginia Plain and follow it with Jumpin' Jumpin'. Plus the TV screens play Bowie: The Video Collection, so there's something nice to look at.
If you don't like MSP or Suede or Bowie or Adam Ant or Joan Jett or Kenickie or Blondie then you probably wouldn't like it. If you do like MSP or Suede or Bowie or Adam Ant or Joan Jett or Kenickie or Blondie then you might like it.
Personally, I prefered the old venue but maybe the new one will grow on me. And hey, it's the place where all the celebs hang out...Graham Coxen's been a few times, various members of King Adora and Rachel Stamp sometimes show their faces. Senay Baxendale is almost always there. Sophie Ellis Baxter once tried to get in free (because she's such a big star and all) but was told she had to pay like everyone else and so stormed off.
