nothing weird happened me cos I stayed in, in case terrorists would gas the tube

Melissa Edwards, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The weirdest thing is that the annoying ex-roommate actually agreed with me on a number of things. Don't know if that's actually going to get the bastard out of the house any more quickly.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

They might as well had, I was so intoxicated I would not have noticed nor suffered from further fuck-upness. Lux Interior and Woody Allen battled inside of me this weekend, and that's a good fight.
"We don't know if there's a God, but there are women. Not in some Heaven above, but right here on Earth. And some of these women, they shop at Victoria's Secret...".

Simon, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I had a dream about Sally Field.

Samantha, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I got reconnected to a whole half of my family I really didn't know.

Brian MacDonald, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

cheezwiz has got dumps like a truck, truck

Tracer Hand, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I danced next to an evicted member of the local Big Brother. Not that wierd, really.

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I met up with seven old schoolmates in a Pitcher & Piano, who I hadn't seen for ten years. We got extremely drunk and had a great time. They didn't recognise me when I walked in, which was exactly what i wanted.

Madchen, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I decked a Muppet on Saturday night. Muppets bleed.

suzy, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

my friend's family adored me (and the sister is in class with my brother and she called him NORMAL)

Maria, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

* Saturday morning went to vinyl and danced to danny tenaglia from 4- 7am. danny t incredible as usual. near 6 danny plays "get ur freak on" house remix at breakneck tempo, whole place goes into frenzy. roman and i leave, it's daytime, so we decided to walk down to the world trade center. it was overwhelming. 7 am, saturday morning, dead quiet, national guardsmen with canteens and helmets and shit. people praying. shrines with candles already lit AT 7AM. construction paper collages from texas elementary. we see the front of the borders bookstore that was right in front of wtc: windows all blown out and floors oddly un-level and wavy. further down we see the BACK of borders and it's just twisted iron spaghetti. dust all over everything, facades, windows of shops, and graffitti painted with fingers in the dust all over THAT, saying "we will remember you" and stuff. it's a month later and people are still trying to hose the dust off. silent nods and glances carrying enormous weight. i walked home over the brooklyn bridge and bought a plant. my world trade center plant. then i went to sleep.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

tracer, i think that's very beautiful, honestly. can you please not tell me to fuck off anymore?

ethan, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I didn't have sex, which considering my last few months of disgusting debauchery, is saying something.

Sean, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I did the opposite of Sean. Oddly unweird.

The weirdest thing that happened to me was that nothing weird happened at all, actually. This was possibly the most normal weekend ever. When the weirdest thing that happens to me is that we went to the bar and it was more insane psychotic than normal, then quite frankly that's a very normal, mainstream weekend. Which frightens me.

Ally, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I woke up on sunday to the smell of gas. Where I was some people were converting gas bottle into stoves.

Ed, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I saw Mulholland Drive and was able, through force of will, to cause the two female leads to experience the joys and mysteries of physical love together. Twice. It was wonderful.

Dan, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sorry ethan.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I heard an indie-pop bass playing young lady being interviewed on Xfm (a radio station in London) who also posts on ILE !

DJ Martian, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Katie has told me to inform you that she has now retreated under her duvet in embarassment.

RickyT, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh, I forgot! I went to a bar and was carded!! (I'll be 34 next month). The two guys I went with were my age, and a year younger, and neither of them were carded... I felt young and attractive the whole night.

Sean, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

OK i have emerged for long enough to say: much weirder things happened to me. i spoke to the Mighty John Kennedy live on air for goodness sake! i was dead dead nervous.

also that man looks younger every time i see him. weird. i think married life may be good for him. "richard brautigan" has just been played on Xfm and man, did we play it fast!

going to bed now. the excitement is just too much!

katie, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I rubbed a lemon on someone I work with's shoes and then said he had lemon soles. I didn't even know I was going to make the joke when I started rubbing. That's just the wonder of me, I guess.

Ally C, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

On friday night I danced for hours to DJ Craze's extended hip-hop/drumnbass set here in Chicago. On Sturday I worked and slept. On Sunday i had breakfast with the sound artists known as Matmos, and then went to the Bjork concert that they opened for. I met bjork and got drunk on cognac. I ended the night having a staring contest with a bird in the street. Best fucking weekend ever.

Tim, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I was sitting with a friend of mine and person who shall be known as X at the provincial. X was rather drunk and did the most casual vomit I have ever seen, over his trousers and all, then maintained it was just a burp for the rest of the night. for some reason it was hilarious at the time. No, I don't know either.

Menelaus Darcy, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

On friday I was out in the stix, kidnapped out to be at ye olde cameltoe n' mullet club karaoke night, with my dad etc., and some old woman with a broken and reedy voice, with stringy long black hair and coke bottle glasses got up and massacred 'My Heart Will Go On'. She was so unspeakably terrible that I was convinced it was all a gag, but no, it was all too real.

Kim, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Tracer move your butt, butt, butt.

I am married to Sisqo, did you know? Dr. Love married us in a private virtual ceremony.

I wore a bee-yoo-tee-ful white thong, which Mr. Dru Nasty tore off with his teeth, before exposing me to his throbbing manhood and love-package.

Oh, but that was not in the weekend, that was last year. Its not very wierd, either, except for the fact that he is so obviously a homosexual.

cheezwhizz, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i went to my grandmothers funeral

anthony, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I asked out a guy who turned out to be best friend's with the guy my best friend fucked then dissed. whoops!

phil, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well seeing the cabaret at ShinkyShonky doesn't count cos they're always doing that sort of thing, so it would have to be simply having a good time. I've been moping most w/e recently.

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

my sky box broke leaving me with just terrestrial tv, this is not on.

Oh yeah, and on Sunday I behaved like a 28 year old should and did chores and sat quietly reading the paper, instead of slobbing in bed all morning watching rubbish tv, that felt quite odd I must say

chris, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My entire weekend was weird. I DJed successfully whilst drunk for the first time ever on Friday. Then on Saturday I randomly met my old best friend from school who I had lost touch with for about six years, who barely recognised me.

Paul Strange, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My weekend was not that weird. I went and saw Amiele on Saturday, though on the way me and my pal kept singing Linkin Park songs. Then on Sunday, I saw American Pie 2, which I preferred to Amiele, which probably says a great deal about me. On Saturday morning I hoovered, and in the afternoon, I listened to the Carpenters.

james, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Seeing Sigue Sigue Sputnik at the Garage and realising that they haven't aged in twenty years. I mean physically, not musically of course!

Trevor, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I went to Hyde Park on Saturday and ran into a woman who was on the same course as my late flatmate. It certainly felt weird.

rosemary, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I watched 7 Buffys on Saturday (end of Season 3) and 3 Star Wars films on Sunday (Phantom, Empire and Jedi), plus I went to Winchester and got blood test results which say I'm low on white cells after fighting a virus this summer. I drove around in the rain in my Dad's car for a while and came back to London this morning. Gutted to miss the Betsey but I was ill.

chris, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I ran into an exgf I hadnt seen in three year and I had lost touch with over a year ago. Just walking down Halifax Commons in the middle of the day with her and we started to flirt. We didnt recognize each other till I gave her my phone with my name on it. Seeing as neither of us is from Halifax it was kinda wierd. She'd let her hair go back to normal, lost the nose ring, the lip stud and most of her earings.

Mr Noodles, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I went to a comic book shop because they carry some san-x stuff, and these teenagers playing magic: the gathering got into a fite. One of them looked exactly like ethan.

Nicole, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

at least mine was true.

ethan, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It wasn't a punchy-kicky fite, but arguing still constitutes a fite.

Nicole, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I saw some three foot long goldfish in the moat of a medieval castle in the centre of Mega City One, then went up a tower that was The Future (1950's style) and saw the Pacific before spending the evening buying records 12 storeys up in BLADE RUNNER buying records.

AHA! Do i get a merit point?

MJ Hibbett, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

As long as they weren't Mega City Four records...

Nicole, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I discovered that person I thought I'd been in love with for nearly a year, and who I *THOUGHT* loved me back, is nothing but a lying, selfish asshole. That the person who claims that his liver is so damaged that he could not take the stress or pressure of talking to me and he might have cancer was still drinking like a fiend. That the man I talked out of suicide so many times, whose head I held while he tried to beat it with his fists or the nearest wall, will not even talk to me while *I* need comfort, because he's so BUSY with his work (not too busy to post to ILE, apparently). He lies, he lies, he lies, he makes up mental illness and problems whenever he loses an argument, he LIES.

kate, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh for fuck's sake.

I remember something weird that happened to me last weekend, I went downtown to these supposed "hotbed" areas, according to the obnoxious hipsters on this msg board who insist that downtown NYC is soooo fantastic - and found absolutely nothing! The few bars we crossed were ass and there really were truly few of them. We walked for like 10 miles, with all the back and forth and weaving, before we took a cab uptown and just went to Peter's.

Ally, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I put loads of pepper instead of salt on my walk-home-chips and threw them across the road in drunken rage whilst dribble sneezing.

Jonnie, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

five months pass...
I got very little sleep, drank lots of warm coke and coated a tall naked man with plaster of paris.

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Sunday, 24 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I witnessed a high speed car chase in a highly populated area. One of the cars crashed into another and there was police and everything. This sort of thing shouldn't happen on my doorstep.

electric sound of jim, Sunday, 24 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

possibly not the weirdest, but the most easily relatable weirdness:

i saw an easter bunny riding a motorbike along the street in dunedin.
it wasn't a parade situation and it wasn't wearing a helmet, it looked scary.

elizabeth anne marjorie, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i performed on stage with my father!!

chaki, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i saw an easter bunny riding a motorbike along the street in dunedin.

roxor!!! i wanna go to dunedin!!

geeta, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

well what's stopping you geeta?
there's lots of easy lays here.

elizabeth anne marjorie, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

high quality easy lays, that is.
[myself not included in either category]

elizabeth anne marjorie, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah if ppl on motorcycles dressed as rabbits turn yr tap.

(hey i saw that too!)(btw)

, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

high quality easy lays, that is.

Well, there's something to consider for September.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
Revive! Ilx's "random" feature can be fun thing to use sometimes.

I was out for a walk this weekend, and I stepped on what I thought was a rock. When I looked down, it turned out to be a decapitated squirrel's head. Very Lynch-esque.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 28 April 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

did you throw it at your s.o.?

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 28 April 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I put season 1 of Buffy into the DVD all ready to watch with homegirl Rosemary and message said Cannot play disc.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 02:51 (twenty-two years ago)

i got more drunk than i usually do at FAPS. Millar and I missed the trains, so we went back to Adams Morgan to some cheesy frat bar, whcih was the only thing open, and drank a bit more.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 02:55 (twenty-two years ago)
