So, yeah...who are your favourite wrestlers? Who do you dislike?...

james, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

is this a joke question?

Samantha, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My faves are Kane coz he's tough. Diamond Dallas Page, he makes me laugh and does that diamond cutter thing...and of course Mick Foley.

james, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No Samantha...it's quite sincere.

james, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

We need Kris' answer, dammit. Where is the man?

Ned Raggett, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well before Dan muscles in with the hometown pride can I just say Jesse "the Body" Ventura? When he ran for governor I thought he was going to run on a tag-team ticket with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan...

Search:

* Spike Dudley. I don't think I have to elaborate much. The scrawniest wrestler in the league, ex-ECW ladder-jumper extraordinaire. "Acid Drop" finisher which can only really be done by a small man. Brilliant.

* Kurt Angle. I'm serious! A real ex- olympian who cries about his stolen gold medals?? You can't make this stuff up ;)

* Mike Awesome. I saw one of his series of ECW matches with fellow Jap-league champ Tanaka at the Elk's Lodge in Queens. My Serious Fan friend calls it one of the best matches ever. Mike Awesome wins the match, but Tanaka gets up and powerbombs him from the TOP ROPE thru a TABLE. These two men pushed their bodies are far as they could. Inspiring.

* Rob Van Damme. Incredible athlete, pot-smoker, pretty boy. Classic for the "Van Damme 4:20" T- shirts alone.

* Supercrazy. Mexican luche-style wrestler who literally has no competition in the WWF and didn't get his contract picked up. High-flying top-rope stuff; a total acrobat. He had an unbelievable series with Tojiri a year ago or so. They moved so quick sobody even knew what they were seeing.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

any of the female muddy ilk, of course.

Hank, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

another guilty secret, although having no tv haven't seen any in ages. gotta love the Dudley boys for table action. And Lita does the Best Hurricanarana in the business. I must say I'm a sucker for the Rock's triumphant comebacks. Scotty Too hotty has a glorious name and the most amusingly pointless move in The Worm. Its all great. The greatest was undoubtedly Big Daddy whom I remember watching with my great grandad when I was little.

Destroy: Triple-H, Stone Cold, Booker T. Washed-up has-beens with friends in high places. How else do you explain Stone Cold's continued dominance of the storyline when he hasn't wrestled a lick in months?

Tracer Hand, Monday, 15 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like Rickey the Dragon Steamboat

Mike Hanle y, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The Body is rockin' but I have to admit that favorie wrestler of the past five yeaers has been Goldberg. Why? Because, if I had a choice, I would be reborn as a 7-foot-tall, 350 pound muscle freak who snorts steam, says nothing, and pummels the shit out of people.

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I loved the way he would show up out of nowhere, slam into someone so hard it wasn't even a move, and win instantly! Goldberg! One of the many losers in the grand shakeup. Vince McMahon should be in the next Batman movie.

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I used to watch wrestling when I was a child, my favourite wrestler ... well actually it was not a wrestler, it was brother love. Now I am amused about Ravishing Rick Rude and Jake the Snake. what ever happened to those guys anyway?

Menelaus Darcy, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Current: Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, HHH, Kurt Angle, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Molly Holly (the only woman who does anything in the WWF that can wrestle a real match), Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Christian, Rey Misterio Jr.

All time: Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Jushin Liger, Brian Pillman, Steve Austin (God WCW was good late 80s-early 90s), Shawn Michaels, The Dynamite Kid, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Tiger Mask.

Destroy: The Undertaker, Kane, Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, X-Pac, Kevin Nash, lots of others.

Kris, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Rick Rude is dead and Jake the Snake is a fat, alcoholic mess.

Kris, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

bring back Kendo Nagasaki !

geordie racer, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This is, of course the REAL stuff. Kent Walton, the 70's, Big Daddy...

Dr. C, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

search:Kane and the 'taker, they're fantastic, also Benoit, a brilliant technical wrestler, the Hardy's for their extreme measures and Little Spike for being just plain mental.

destroy:Stone cold - plain nasty, booker T - most thrilling move in sports entertainment? my arse, and triple H just plain rubbish.

chris, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Search: Giant Haystacks v. Big Daddy

Destroy: WWF and the like

Madchen, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kendo Nagasaki! Who knew what lay beneath his mask?

RickyT, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Search: The Great Muta!!

Benoit and Rey Mysterio Jr. obviously msters of their craft.

I forgot to mention that Mike Awesome's power bomb on Tanaka from the top rope sent Tanaka thru a table that was OUTSIDE the ring. The whole place exploded... "Ee cee dub! Ee cee dub! Ee cee dub! Ee cee dub!"

What ever happened to Justin Credible? Fuck that, what ever happened to Joey Styles?

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

whatever happened to slick? and, for that matter, what was the deal with akeem, the african dream? who was clearly both a caucasian and the one man gang?

fred solinger, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Muta was awesome. I like Joey Styles, but he sounds too much like a dorky kid. I miss the announcers like Jesse Ventura and Gorilla Monsoon who would go on and on about the solarplexus and the carotid artery. Now you just have guys like Lawler and Heyman screaming.

Kris, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Destroy Sting, Big John Stud.

Search Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, Andre The Giant (more for his role in Princess Bride), Roddy Roddy Piper, Sgt Slaughter, Brett The Hitman Hart and anyone who had to wrestle Sting cause it was hard to make him look good.

Mr Noodles, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Now this is just crazy talk.

Kim, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ivan "Polish Power" Putsky!
