host

anthony, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

he's been doing it since the 50's and I've been watching since 1983 so it would just be odd to see someone else hosting. luckily he's not quitting for a year :)

kevin enas, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I know his niece. She is a very nice young woman who writes for USA Today.

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mike Hanle y, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Are they going to retire all of that seventies decor, the starbursty flowers and orange shag as well? WHAT ABOUT PLINKO?!

Kim, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hanle y, of course!

Tadeusz Suchodolski, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Like the show needs more sexual harassment lawsuits...

Nicole, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Bob Goldwaith!

Mr Noodles, Tuesday, 16 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hey, that relationship was consentual! They were two mature people engaging in sexual relations, and there ain't nothin' wrong with that. Yeah. Just because Bob's, like, 30 years her senior ... c'mon now.

David Raposa, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I love Plinko. I think Dr. Laura should host. Or Carrot Top.

Samantha, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

wtf is bob barker?

Geoff, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

host of the price is right
Known for being a letch and asking people to spay and neutuer their pets , somewhat of a camp classic, being at school i cannot be arsed to find links.

anthony, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like some of these answers. Let's have Doug Llewellyn or Judge Judy.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

michael dudikoff (of american ninja 1-4 fame)

kevin enas, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Brian Bosworth!

David Raposa, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My dog Paco. He likes to bring pecans in from the back yard and then leave the shells all over the floor after he eats the good bits.

I'll be getting my coat.

Sam-at-home, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

five years pass...
The question must be answered.

ghost rider, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 18:05 (eighteen years ago)

who should be the next trance

J0hn D., Wednesday, 9 May 2007 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

If Hugh Laurie and Bob Barker switched jobs, Bob would fare better. Hugh is too nice to tell the contestants to hurry the fuck up when they are taking like 5 minutes to decide what to bid on a showcase.

wanko ergo sum, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 18:57 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks, now I'll have Price theme running in my head for 2 hours.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

i'll miss bob.

M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

Say goodbye to Bob!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 19:34 (eighteen years ago)

great article! spinning the big wheel still looks like the most fun thing ever.

tremendoid, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 19:57 (eighteen years ago)

Richard Dawson : Louie Anderson :: Bob Barker : ???

kenan, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

If he gave up that horrific American accent, it would totally be worth it.

Nicole, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

How about Craig Ferguson? He's already at CBS and has a fine accent.

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

I think cbs wants someone douchey like Mark Steines.

Nicole, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:26 (eighteen years ago)

xpost Yeah but his show is fine the way it is.

kenan, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:26 (eighteen years ago)

I nominate Bob Saget.

I knew House long before I knew Wooster and I still can't take his *real* voice seriously.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:29 (eighteen years ago)

Well, Joe Coleman's happy at least.

Mike McGooney-gal, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

is the primetime thingy on tonight?

sunny successor, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 19:31 (eighteen years ago)

I think so! CBS This Morning was talking about it.

Pleasant Plains, Wednesday, 16 May 2007 20:09 (eighteen years ago)

one month passes...

His final ep is up on torrent. He really has survived a lot, orange leather, stooped stature, gene rayburn mic & all.

It's a funny clash, funky 70s design, splitscreen design, and they're hawking mp3 players and plasma HD tvs

kingfish, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 05:00 (eighteen years ago)

i hate this man.

deeznuts, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 05:03 (eighteen years ago)

What the hell? He's done bunches for animals and seems decent enough to humans.

Sparkle Motion, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 05:06 (eighteen years ago)

FUN FACTS about Bob Barker I just learned at Wikipedia: he grew up on an Indian reservation in South Dakota, cut his teeth in Springfield, MO, was a Navy fighter pilot in WW2, got a degree in economics from Drury U., did some time at a radio station in Florida before moving to California, and is partially responsible for aiding Mila Kunis in learning the english language.

iiiijjjj, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 05:15 (eighteen years ago)

I heard he's endorsing Rosie O'Donnell as his replacement.

iiiijjjj, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 05:18 (eighteen years ago)

wow talk about insecure. we'll miss you, dude. promise.

tremendoid, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 06:07 (eighteen years ago)

where's that vid of the most flamboyantly excited contestant of all time? the one who Bob didn't want to touch for fear of catching teh gaye?

kingfish, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 06:41 (eighteen years ago)

this one?

gr8080, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 09:56 (eighteen years ago)

i got to see tis one when it first aired.

gr8080, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 09:59 (eighteen years ago)

and is partially responsible for aiding Mila Kunis in learning the english language.

two of my favorite people together at last

sunny successor, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:23 (eighteen years ago)

I think I'll always love him after he admitted in an interview about 10 years ago that, after running 2 miles a day, he poured himself a glass of orange juice and muttered something about "sensual pleasure" he derived from the "stuff you take for granted." OJ may have been a substitute for "Bob's Bitches," but I trust the man in the permatan.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 13:42 (eighteen years ago)

seven months pass...

He actually made an Adam Sandler flick worth watching for a full 5 minutes or so! Coolest game show host in history. (And why not, since TPiR was the best of its type, also.)
