HEY there be any ARTISTS in this bitch and can you show your stuff?

There must be other people who have stuff to show so let's see it. Put it on this thread. I just spent a while getting new stuff together for a web page. There are lots of cartoony sketch kind of things here. They are big pics and also they are not all very new so kindly don't look at just one and then say "poopy" thankyew.

This is unfinished but I'm busily working on it as we speak:

I do other body parts too, to date i've done the intestines and esoj has a replica human heart in his possession and i've done a few rough designs for some other body parts.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 08:54 (twenty-one years ago)

wow, i really like your work. I only have a slow connection, so it's taking me a while to look through them all but it's really nice stuff. I've always wanted to try to work in a similar style but i'm afraid my drawing is kind of scratchy and not especially crisp looking. I'm very jealous :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

That looks like the texture of it was intended to entice people to grab it and squeeze it like a toy. You know how bubble wrap has that irresistable "squeeze me" look, so does your beaded schlong. Neat! I had fun making a wire ear once. I knotted baling wire together with pliers for a frame, and tried gluing pieces of colored cellophane between the gaps to make it look like a faceted jewel. They didn't stay stuck on it well though but it was fun to make. Oh yeah, and I'm jealous of people who make splashy scratchy Ralph Steadman drawings, because they make crisp drawing feel stiff.

nah i love crisp stuff.

glad you like my uhh...cock. I'll repost when i've finished beading all of it.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 18:16 (twenty-one years ago)

oh hey, thanks for the mention Martin!

I have an old lo-tech website of bits of paintings here:
http://www.angelfire.com/wy/bby2k/piclinks.html

I still can't work out how to scan whole pictures. I'm not doing the paintings with circles and magazine prints anymore.

hey, some of us are photographers, too...

Kingfish Funyun (Kingfish), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread is already one of the coolest I've read in a while. Always nice to see what everyone else does with their creative spare time.

My finished online comics are here. Not sure when I'll be adding more.

My infrequently updated online sketchbook is here

Looks good. Any suggestions on finding cheap / free webspace? I've got a few scans, but nowhere to host them.

Some wicked shit- i love the collages jel, very rauschenbergian. If you want a whole pic done you can either scan pieces then assemble them together with photoshop, or use a digital camera. You can also get that done at photo places. Yeah and mushrush man the angry scientist comic is my favorite. It's goofy and really fun to look at with all those cool details in the backgrounds. Do more of that character.

sucka (sucka), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd show some of my b/fs very cool comic work, but he isnt online to ask if its ok, and I'm reluctant to throw links around without his permission. His stuff is way cute tho, has a sort of anime/Jhonen Vasquez feel.

I can't draw for shite, tho I like to do photography. Will hunt around and see if I have anything online worth linking.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 00:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Donna, looks like your images aren't workin cause of the evil geocities... you can put them in as links and they should work.

Heh. I was searching for MP3's to play for someone as a demo, and found this art online:

http://www.thelollies.co.uk/elephants.htm

My brother is trying to find me an agent and a gallery in NYC. I laugh at this idea, but hey, if he can actually do it, I will be laughing all the way to the bank.

the river fleet, Thursday, 5 February 2004 14:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Gee, I wonder who will do the sound installation at this projected gallery. Oh right, a Julian Casablancas solo demo, that'll do.

*flees*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 5 February 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey sucka, thanks for that scanner tip dude! (spent like 2 hours scanning different bits in, but there are major probs with the shading, some bits come out darker than others, I'll sort it though!)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 5 February 2004 17:37 (twenty-one years ago)

my partner at work's bro-in-law has a show in NYC at earl mcgrath from 2/12-3/15.

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 6 February 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 6 February 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

oooo, oooo! you *must* promise to post a pic when it's done!

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 6 February 2004 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I will, these beaded things I make take so damn long to finish I'm always super proud of them when I finish them. It's like the olympic marathon of arty-fartiness.
