I need a box

other than ebay, does anyone know where on the net I might be able to find an unsual and / or antinque box - large enough and secure enough to carry my a4 sized manuscript pages in; approximately 16 inches long, 8 inches wide and quite deep?

Any box makers out there?

I wish my question didn't have unanswered written all over it, 'cause I really do need a box.

If there's any way the insania of my handle and subject heading can be sidesteped (they were chosen rashly), does anyone know where a box might be, that I might find one?

Have you tried local antique shops? Or eBay? Obvious I know, but unless you want a custom-made box, I can't think of anything else.

Buy an ordinary cheap A4 sized box-file and personalise it yourself by printing out ilXor threads and pasting them all over it!

Yes. No one will think you have insania if you do that.

In a dark, dark wood there was a dark, dark house;
And in the dark, dark house there was a dark, dark room;
And in the dark, dark room there was a dark, dark cupboard;
And in the dark, dark cupboard there was a dark, dark shelf;
And on the dark, dark shelf there was a dark, dark box; And in the dark, dark box there was a....ghost!

And on the dark, dark shelf there was a dark, dark box; And in the dark, dark box there was a....mouse!

there are larger cigar boxes that might do the trick. Alternatively, try using balsa wood to make a box along the dimensions of a cardboard A4 box

The box has been soiled.

"Haha, we don't assemble the boxes here; that's done in Flint, Michigan."

Nick H (Nick H), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe there's a nervous kitten in this box

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

if u ever want a cardboard box dont ask supermarket workers cos they find it fucking annoying

prima fassy (mwah), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:15 (twenty-one years ago)

In the good old days there used to be a pile of cardboard boxes for people to use, just by the till. The supermarkets don't do thisw any more as it looks 'messy'

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I was told it was because it was a fire hazard.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It's also because many of them flatten out the boxes and sell them to recycling companies.
