Things To Do When Your ISP Is Down

Last night I could'nt get on-line because my ISP had technical difficulties. Frustrating, yes, so I worked off-line for a while, watched the news and went to bed early. At least I got a full night's sleep. Have you had this happen to you and if so, what did you do?

Call up the System Administrator and give him an earful.

(Yes, I do this.)

  1. Walk 3 blocks & give them an earful for me (haha, this may be why I so far have such wonderful luck...)
  2. bake beer bread
  3. get puppy to chase a red laser pointer dot around the apartment
  4. scan in photos of adorable neice

I called the ISP this a.m. and listened to their friggin' muzak for half an hour and had to get a new password. (I sill don't know why) Spoke to an EM-ployee, but he was actually a dude and I didn't want to seem too uncool about the whole thing. Not to him, anyhow. Bu I would have loved being in a locked room with his boss and the laser pointer.

In that order?

You punks better not be ringing me up and giving me an earful! I've had it with this job!

I usually don't give tech support an earful unless they're being bastards, in which case I am more than happy to make the ten minutes or so I'm in their lives miserable. I think that's happened only the once for me.

Anyway, things to do when the ISP is down? Hm. Watch TV. Read something -- newspaper, magazine, book, owner's manual, whatever. Fix yourself something to eat. Become a clean freak. Listen to lots of music. Write something. Play "Spooky" on the kazoo. And so on.
