Not the drug, the comic. Anyone remember it? It amalgamated with Tiger and so only the sports-related stories survived, one of which was Topps on Two Wheels.

Another blimmin comics question! Bah, I was hoping for some amusing amphetamine anecdotes.

RickyT, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I now declare this a SPEED: THE DRUG thread because I HATE YOU AND I HATE YOUR COMICS. Why is there no decent speed in London? Why do I always get fobbed off with the RUBBIDGE?

Sarah, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh no! Sarah hates me! Some birthday this is turning out to be....

MarkH, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh dear! Happy birthday Mark!! Don't come to London to buy your speed though, it's always RUBBIDGE! I don't even HAVE a best speed anecdote, just mediocre confessions of um, mediocrity! Best example = being given some and then GOING HOME and finding yourself alone in the flat and you'd THINK that would have meant I tidied up, wouldn't you?? But oh no! Now my room is carnage, I didn't pick out the records I needed for the rest of the day and I danced about a lot to crap punXor whilst thinking WHY AM I NOT *OUT*!!!

Sarah, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Incidentally I am not speeding now, despite somewhat manic tone.

Sarah, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Happy birthday, Mark.

I have no anecdotes about the drug or the comic (I would like the opportunity to develop some anecdotes about the former, 'cos caffeine is the bestest thing ever and me after lots of caffeine is a scary scary thing, and I'm imagining caffeine x 30000). I have seen the film but I can't be bothered to have an opinion on that, either, it was just THERE, in a not very good but not spectacularly bad either sort of way. So. Hrm. I'm only really posting this to wish you happy birthday, so I'll shut up now.

Rebecca, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Thank you Rebecca and Sarah. The comic was good tho, it had this plastic model aeroplane free with Issue 1, rather like the Space Spinner with Prog.1 of 2000AD. Got fed up with Tiger after a year or so and moved on to 2000AD, more than adequately covered elsewhere by Tom & Dirty Vicar!

MarkH, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Not the drug, the comic

Oh. Nevermind.

Sean, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

happy birthday mark! and stop talking about comics!

katie, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Less comics and drugs. More sex.

Ally C, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

there was some good speed in London recently, crystal meth, an' it was smooooth, but i scoffed all mine and now i don't know whether i can get more. bugger.

cameron bain, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Is speed just crystal with a lot of glucose in?

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

As official ILE cheer maker...

Hip hip hooray for you on your magical birthing day.

james, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Isn't speed just rubbish coke?

Samantha, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The difference between the two is that speed wakes you up and coke turns you into a wanker.

RickyT, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Speed can also turn you into a trailer trash Jerry Springer guest.

Samantha, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

What turns you back into you tho?

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

a long telephone conversation with your mother.

Samantha, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm still trying to figure that one out.

Sean, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Grrr, my reply was meant to follow Tracer's, oh well. Anyway, I really shouldn't be posting here, I don't know anything about speed, really. No, seriously.

Sean, Wednesday, 17 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 13 December 2007 11:56 (eighteen years ago)
