Censorship of 'Absolute Power' -- Bothered?

Problem with this show is that it reproduces the cynicism it sets out to attack.

But political censorship is always k-dud. Should the BBC have had some guts here or what?

sorry i missed this story; what happened exactly. was the series prematurely cut short or is it that a 2nd series has been mooted?

It's a radio series too, and the new series starts tonight on R4 at 6.30. It's been edited to get rid of snide refs to the government (and BBC, apparently). Writer not happy about it.

Hmm yes well that is rub. Smacks of a return to Birtism, remember the outing Mandelson fiasco. You get the feeling Dyke would have overruled such incipient fears, but that's speculating over a lost cause, potentially everything is different now.
Admittedly i was not a fan of the show (havent heard it on R4).
