I think that was true for most people. I know I was like whaaaaaaaaaat and then learned he'd been working that way for even longer than I'd been aware of him while holding down a total G-rated nice guy persona as his dayjob.

the one time I saw him in 2006, it almost felt like he was making up 20% of his set as he went along...but it was landing so well. the set was very, very blue, but like, it did have craft to it. but he'd jump back and forth to talking about his ex-wife and mentioning that he fingered Kimmy Gibbler (I don't think he really did, obv).

He did lean a bit on the Full House/dirty comic dichotomy a lot but he had the crowd eating out of his hand. Played a little guitar, mostly parodies of songs. one of the lyrics (a parody of "I Want It That Way") referred to Full House - "So the jokes weren't always funny/Well, fuck you. I made lots of money".

I know he took Norm's death hard. was just finding his hunger again too :(

everybody seems to love this guy. my friends met him after a show here a few years back and said he was really nice and funny.

there was a dude at the show I attended who was clearly fucked out of his gourd, and Saget started ribbing him, but he actually managed to attempt to get him assistance/assure he had transportation after the show, while working it into his bit and making it funny at the same time. def had a heart.

I wasn’t a a dedicated fan or anything, but he was Bob fucking Saget, you know? RIP
