Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 5 February 2004 06:06 (twenty-two years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 5 February 2004 06:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Thursday, 5 February 2004 06:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Didn't want to be the one to post that, but oh well. No turning back now.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Thursday, 5 February 2004 06:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Yee haw.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 5 February 2004 06:42 (twenty-two years ago)

And when I say "Turning back"....

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Thursday, 5 February 2004 06:57 (twenty-two years ago)

He looks like a guy from the movie "terminal usa".

Sébastien Chikara (Sébastien Chikara), Thursday, 5 February 2004 06:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 6 February 2004 06:49 (twenty-two years ago)

"Au revoir, Simone."

bnw (bnw), Friday, 6 February 2004 07:05 (twenty-two years ago)

pee wee!

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 6 February 2004 07:16 (twenty-two years ago)

It's like they're running towards each other's embrace in slow motion! How romantic!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 6 February 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
http://www.friendster.com/viewfullphoto.jsp?id=28190329

I peeped this one in the Gallery--it's reminiscent of what I'd expect a flight attendent based out of Dallas to use in a personals ad.

lurkster (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

It's very 70s, that.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 March 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Forgive me, I meant to post the image directly on the page:

http://www.friendster.com/viewfullphoto.jsp?id=28190329

lurkster (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Shit, nevermind...I suck at this posting images on board crap.

Yes, that picture triggers the smell of stale Virginia Slims tar glazed on faux wood paneling.

lurkster (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 15:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Her favorite music!!!
E.S.G., Phoenix, Micheal McDonald, Erelend Oye, Dump, Yo La Tengo, Pavement(&malkmus solo), Prince, Wire, Ween, BillyOcean, SteelyDan, Bowie, RollingStones, TalkingHeads, Hall&Oats, Madonna(early), DepecheMode, French Kicks, Vagenius, AmirYaghmai, MaataHari

and she lives in L.A. I might have to write her.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 29 March 2004 17:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Godspeed, young man!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 March 2004 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

although she lists her occupation as 'Russian Mail-Order Bride' and one of her favorite books is 'Ultimate Sniper : An Advanced Training Manual For Military And Police Snipers', so probably not...

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 29 March 2004 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Who doesn't love a sniper?

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 29 March 2004 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Shot through the heart!

(from 200 yards w/ 15 mph crosswinds = oh baby)

bnw (bnw), Monday, 29 March 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

whoe, weird....i know people who know that russian mail-order bride girl....i don't know her personally and don't mean to talk shit--but according to what i've been told, she's medicated, has a tendency to starve herself and pass out in public to get attention--and worst of all, slept with D8ve Matth3ws. Apparently, she abandoned her sorority-girl thing and took on her hipster persona after moving to the big city.

the people who know her say she's not someone you'd hate, but would have more of a love-hate thing with...

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

and worst of all, slept with D8ve Matth3ws

HAHA!

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 29 March 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

There is nothing worse.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:00 (twenty-one years ago)

"...and show your worrrrrrld to meeeeee"

Kingfish Hypercolor (Kingfish), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I stalked some co-workers of mine and found who, under music wrote something like "David Matthews Band, something something, and music that's to embarrasing to mention"

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Whoe--I didn't even read her profile...and here I was thinking she was just some piece of Texas trailer trash.

Apparently, she abandoned her sorority-girl thing and took on her hipster persona after moving to the big city.

the following the in-crowd thing isn't so hot, either....

lurkster (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I stalked some co-workers of mine and found who, under music wrote something like "David Matthews Band, something something, and music that's to embarrasing to mention"
-- Dan Selzer (danselze...), March 29th, 2004.

in listing David Matthews...and then writing down "music that's to embarrasing to mention"--would you interpret that as saying that this person thinks Dave Matthews is UNembarassing. oh man, set your co-worker straight!

by the way, you're dan from nyhappenings, aren't you?

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I suppose Spencer could contact her for the challenge of it. Can he stand being in the room with a Dave Matthews fan?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha, I'm definitely not writing her now. My nerve profile includes a specific "no DMB fans" stipulation.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I should have guessed! (Wise move, actually.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:30 (twenty-one years ago)

are you sure? between the eating disorder, mental instability and taste in music--i'm sure she'd make for an exciting night out....really, i can ask one of my friends to hook it up.

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

true. Actually, I think I've seen this girl out. She's directly connected to a friend of mine.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

small world...so is she does she seem as mental as they say she is, or are they just exagerrating?

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't recall her foaming at the mouth or anything.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I've never actually met said co-worker. just entereing random names of co-workers into friendster.

and yes, and you're lunatarium jacky no? Funny we only met that one time when Adesh was DJing Standard Notions, right?

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

did she ever zone out, walk into a wall and then go unconscious and pass out on the floor.? that was more of her trademark

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

you're lunatarium jacky no? Funny we only met that one time when Adesh was DJing Standard Notions, right?

-- Dan Selzer (danselze...), March 29th, 2004.

yes, i am! what the hell--why don't i see you in person more often?

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know why everyone's assuming that just because she fucked Dave Matthews, she likes his music.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

because you're always doing your parties and I'm always doing mine! and lately I haven't had the energy to leave the house except for when I'm djing.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know why everyone's assuming that just because she fucked Dave Matthews, she likes his music.
-- jaymc (jmcunnin...), March 29th, 2004.

that's very true...but she was, indeed, a fan.

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

standard notions! haha! dan, i haven't thought about that place in so long. makes me think of hanging out with abby and karen o and wondering if any of the boys with white belts liked me.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

true...i always thought throwing parties would enable me to party more often with my friends...but then i find that since most of them also throw parties i end up putting on these productions for complete strangers

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

don't worry, Lauren. Yes, they all liked you, and no, they didn't deserve you. And I hope that wasn't while we were still dating. Gracie took a bunch of us there later but it had turned into something else, I think? And now I think I didn't mean standard notions, what's that little place on A where Adesh spun, Jacky? something liquid or something?

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i think dave matthews is attractive

anthony, Monday, 29 March 2004 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

no, we met at Standard, which was on 1st Ave....hmmm don't know if they ever had a regular spot on A.

i feel bad, i haven't seen those guys in a while, either. when's the Crazy Rhythms dj crew playing? i saw something on your list about that. i think i'm gonna friendster you just so i can keep tabs on how i can run into again.

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:28 (twenty-one years ago)

What's going on here? It all sounds very incestuous.

also:
HEY KAREN 0 I JUST WANTED TO DROP YOU THIS MESSAGE AND TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU AND YOUR MUSIC you are a true SURVIVOR and you are my hero for goin out there and doin what u do even when you was in pain!!! I copped ur cd the first day it came out!!! thanx!! I LOVE YOU KANYE, I MEAN KAREN!!!!!!!!!!! HOLLA BACK @ DIS HAPA DAWG YO!!!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

that's what I'm thinking of I think. I haven't seen the Record Camp people in forever, not since the last time I stopped by their party at void. Crazy Rhythms are DJing this friday at the Coral Room for the Metal Urbain show, more news to come. Friendster me and I'll put you on the Crazy Rhythms mailing list, which was created for everyone I meet who wants to know about my DJing but won't tolerate joining nyhappenings. Anyone else reading who wants to know about Crazy Rhythms parties, email me and I'll put you on the list, I send out 1 or 2 emails a week at most, if at all, and it only covers Crazy Rhythms, which is me and Mike from Troubleman Unlimited, as well as parties we do seperately, like his saturday parties at Boogaloo. We're also doing Motherfucker easter weekend.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

hot damn! crazy rhythms in the hiz-ouse!

...and can anyone post anymore strange friendster pics....i'd like to see how incestuous ilxor is with funny-looking people on friendster.

waxyjax (waxyjax), Monday, 29 March 2004 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

poor lucas got 2 jackets stolen from boogaloo on saturday nights... and one was a leather agnes b jacket.

Ian Johnson (orion), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Sometimes you have to wait a little bit for their database to fully catch up. It's weird that way.

I suppose we can expand to Myspace examples as well. This is less 'wrong' as it is 'I don't think so,' in that the subject below:
