And if so.....what do you have to say about it?

i use it, it's fine. it was better the first year when it gave you 4% interest, I stuck a bunch of money in there and made about $200 in interest that year, which was cool. Don't use it if you need to get money out of your savings a lot because the transfers are slow (deposits not available for withdrawl for up to a week after deposit, then 3 days to transfer to your bank).

I use ING Indirect.
I give them my money, and then when I call to ask how it's doing, they put me into voicemail limbo.

Pardon my boundless ignorance, but all you do is hook it up with your savings account (or does it have to be a checking account)? Right?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 5 February 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

either one, any bank account will do. why would you have to call them to see how it's doing? or are you dealing with a money market account and not their savings account? I don't understand real investing at all so I haven't bothered with the CDs or Money Market accounts.

I used it a couple years ago, and it was fine. Yeah, was better at 4%. I did like the absolute simplicity of the process. Although you really can't do much with it - I just used it as a place to put money somewhere where I could forget about it (and hence, not spend it all). Moving funds is easy - the website is dead simple.

mine is at 5%! i made ~$250 in interest last year. i've never tried to get any money out of it, i hope i can get it back eventually. also it pretty much operates on the principle of not employing anybody. it is a parasite and i feel a bit guilty for that.

how are you at 5%? they lowered the interest for everyone to 2%

Yeah Im thinking of getting an ING acct too - Jim, take it the interest is good and its pretty easy to add and remove money with the website yeh?

(the aust one is at way more than 4% surely, thats a pretty low interest rate for us)

it's 4.5 or something, might even be a bit more. the only downside is that any money you put in can't be touched for five days, but frankly i see that more as an upside. transacting is a piece of piss.

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I need to start putting money somewhere its harder to get at, thats why I wanna get one. Must look into it.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:21 (twenty-two years ago)

you can put it in my account, it will be very hard to get out of there.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

it's 5% jim!

jeremy jordan (cruisy), Friday, 6 February 2004 03:15 (twenty-two years ago)
