They were friendly, energetic, played well and generally put on a great show. I worry for their future, however, based on the crowd. It was the kind of show that single-mom brings the teenagers and then shares their dope with them.

I rode in a van with two Apples in Stereo to see The Shins, and I'm still so unhipster that, when I try to play songs on jukeboxes in trendy hipster locales the digital display will actually spell out "Puh-leeze, you think I'm really gonna let you subject these digital camera-wielding blogger beauties to PRIMUS!?! I will be at Spaceland tonight if anyone wants to stop by. It's free on Mondays and some of my friends 'The Vacation', are doing the residency this month. They're kinda rockin. There will definitely be hipsters there. In fact, there might only be hipsters there (and me).

No, never been there before. I thought it was a great venue to see a band, though. Very intimate. The crowd was a funny mix. I don't know if pot-smoking mom was talking to me because she was crazy LA talk to everyone lady, or if she glommed onto me because I was probably older than she was.

No retraction on the band, though. They were lots of fun.

And, actually, I know that going to the show doesn't qualify me as a hipster. There are so many reasons I am not a hipster. None of them, however, negate my desperate, pathetic craving to be one!
