this is the thread where we cheer for laziness

it's 4.30 and i'm still in my pajamas, having reluctantly gotten up two hours ago. the only thing i've accomplished is reading one of the sunday papers. i have to be somewhere at 7pm, but i'm not sure if i'll even be dressed by then. let's hear it for sloth, my new favorite deadly sin.

lauren (laurenp), Sunday, 8 February 2004 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't feel like shaving, so I'm sitting here instead.

Rockist Scientist (rockistscientist), Sunday, 8 February 2004 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

hooray!

actually right now laziness is being a cruel mistress for me, it's my friends birthday, I have to go, but friday was psycho behaviour and I'm incredibly tired. but I have to go!

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 8 February 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

hey lauren what's happening with the bowling?

the only things i need to do today involve sitting at a computer for ages. although i'm going down the road to buy a couple of cans of Coke and a bar of Dairy Milk in a minute. Sundays rock.

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 8 February 2004 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Sloth is wondrous and grand, and should be pursued whenever possible. It helps enusre the busy periods have a relaxed payoff.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 8 February 2004 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Ronan, how was tha partay?

Also, I can't cheer for laziness. Ever since I came back to Ghana, I've woken up at 7.30 for work, made it there every morning between 8.30-9am, gone to bed more or less on time and started to regularly work out. Also, I mostly despise the concept of house help and so do anything I can do without aid solo. Compare to back when I was a student where I'd slide out of bed anytime after 12, take months off lectures and tutorials, do NO work and spend copious amounts of time drunk or on the net. The shocker about my job is that I have NOTHING to do at work therefore I'm lazy by means of employment. I don't even have the net so I download anything readable at home each night to keep occupied. And the general populace here is lazier than I'll ever be. Really. I bet all this will reverse itself when I eventually move back to London where everyone's upwardly mobile ;-).

Mind you, today is as any Sunday should be but plus the gym and a sore throat and minus the Dairy Milk.

Barima (Barima), Sunday, 8 February 2004 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

trying to sort out bowling with the 20 other people involved, who all want it to happen on a different day. i'll update as soon as there's anything to report. i've walked by rowan's several times this weekend and am in quite a state of anticipation.
god, i need a coke. i didn't have dinner last night (scampi would have been appreciated) and am feeling the effects today. getting a coke would involve leaving the house, though, so...

lauren (laurenp), Sunday, 8 February 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I'm going to finish my homework now. I don't belong here. : (

Aja (aja), Sunday, 8 February 2004 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I just played mario kart for 3 hours.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 8 February 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

the scampi made me feel ill lauren, or maybe it was just the lemon juice on the chips (!!!) - blergh. i kept thinking the dogs would finish earlier than they did and was planning on doing something after. how was Transmission?

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 8 February 2004 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm at a crossroads. My coffee pot is broken and I'm too lazy to either go out and get some coffee or a new coffee pot. If only I had some coffee, I would have the motivation to do it, rather than sittinig her groggily looking at the Sunday paper, too lazy to actually read it . . .

Maybe I'll take a shower. Nah.

Salmon Pink (Salmon Pink), Sunday, 8 February 2004 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I already took a shower.

I'm usually lazier than this! What is wrong with me!

Aja (aja), Sunday, 8 February 2004 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

it was absolutely ram-packed to the point of ridiculousness. i have lots of pictures on my camera that i don't remember taking. i do remember dancing onstage to good life which i guess was a highlight, but then the organizers took over and it turned into indie disco so we had to waltz ironically to the coral (a lowlight).

lauren (laurenp), Sunday, 8 February 2004 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

the coral (a lowlight).

The Lauren Quotables keep on coming.

Barima (Barima), Sunday, 8 February 2004 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I went out and got sick! And came home! I didn't even have a drink. It was a miserable evening.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 8 February 2004 22:24 (twenty-two years ago)

The party on Friday was great though, Barima! Me and my friend Stephen did sort of tag team DJing, it was all high fives and switching over, wicked stuff!

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 8 February 2004 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Laziness - biggest DUD in the history of C/Dism.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 9 February 2004 00:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Laziness is the curse of my life. I cant work out if I'm tired, malnourished, smoke too much, depressed or what, but when I have a 101 other things to be doing, there I am sitting helplessly on the couch feeling exhausted wishing I could push myself. I'd kill to have energy and bounce more of the time.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 9 February 2004 03:47 (twenty-two years ago)

me to thread!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 9 February 2004 03:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Mind you it doesnt help feeling lazy and unmotivated when you spend mich of the weekend pushing past tiredness and a sore back from an infection and do the housework anyway and yr other half has to be goaded and cajoled just to take out the bloody rubbish mutter grumble kids these days...

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 9 February 2004 03:53 (twenty-two years ago)

This pretty much sums it up.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Monday, 9 February 2004 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I finally got a shower at about 5 o/c yesterday. It's quite rare to be this lazy, but you gotta do it ebery now and again. lazy=classic, being knackered from doing nothing=dud.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 9 February 2004 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)
