Give the guy a break. He's trying to be witty. That's tough. He deserves a few more chances. Stand up the man who was funny first time!

I just realised that i only play the sims so they can set the stove on fire and die and then whoevers left can get depressed and not eat and die too. I think there's something wrong with me.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 10 February 2004 03:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I started playing simcity 4 the other day and I was much enjoying unleasing hordes of effelants all over the land and then zapping it with lightning and blowing trees up. Wheeeee....

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 10 February 2004 03:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I found myself doing that with the civilization series too. And I remember as kids getting out the colecovision and pulling the cartridges so they were half in and half out just to see all the graphics get messed up.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 10 February 2004 03:44 (twenty-two years ago)

tripper

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 10 February 2004 03:45 (twenty-two years ago)

the game was so much more interesting when the cabbage patch kids turned into pink and blue blocks.

Whoa, time for me to go d/l an emulator i think.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 10 February 2004 03:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoa, I'm trippin my console in a frenzy of cartridge play!

Silly! You don't inject the BLEACH, you clean the works with the bleach! So your smack stays clean and white!

Skottie, Tuesday, 10 February 2004 06:57 (twenty-two years ago)

No more ring around the needle!

Skottie, Tuesday, 10 February 2004 07:03 (twenty-two years ago)

you don't get out to the west coast much, do ya?

OpiatesForTheMasses, Tuesday, 10 February 2004 07:05 (twenty-two years ago)

four years pass...

Cleaning in the kitchen last night, I left a bottle of bleach on the counter. This morning I had an urge to pour it on my cornflakes. I resisted this, of course, but the desire was overwhelming! I could smell and taste just how it was going to be -- horrible -- but still could barely keep myself from doing it. Bleach!! What's wrong with me?

^^^^ the answer

№ 1 (libcrypt), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:17 (seventeen years ago)

Fucking filthyclean bleach junkie.

№ 1 (libcrypt), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:18 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, I don't think the impulse was to 1-800-suicide, but just to *taste* bleach, to feel it in my mouth.

energizing the base (briania), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:23 (seventeen years ago)

Still and all, it was an impulse to self-harm. Don't minimize it too much. Figure it out if you can.

Aimless, Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:27 (seventeen years ago)

I get this from time to time, not with bleach but with jumping off of large things. It's a pretty fucked-up impulse!

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:28 (seventeen years ago)

Perhaps reviving a calum thread is the ILX equivalent.

energizing the base (briania), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:30 (seventeen years ago)

I live on the 7th floor and the walkway from elevator to apartment is totally open to the outside. So, yeah. I get the urge thing.

Super Cub, Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:35 (seventeen years ago)

See my urge to jump from dangerously high places is basically a 5-year-old's urge to do ANYTHING that's irreversible. A more benign version might be squeezing all the toothpaste out of the tube because you can't put it back, or ruining your mother's chapstick because it's so orange and waxy and perfectly smooth, or the urge to take things apart or break them on purpose... Maybe I was a very contrary child? But I don't think so, I think this is fairly simple stuff.

Also um I find heights kind of...simplify my immediate impulses toward things like survival and um. Sexy things.

Vampire romances depend on me (Laurel), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:45 (seventeen years ago)

I used to get urges to drink my drawing ink. Like, nasty poisonous horrible tasting india ink. I think it's a fairly common human thing.

post-apocalyptic time jazz (Masonic Boom), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:48 (seventeen years ago)

Cuttlefish ink is better, though.

Michael White, Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:49 (seventeen years ago)

You kids & your trendy cocktails.

Something like bleach or ink is such a familiar smell that I think there's some kind of chemical curiosity how that odor would translate to taste.

energizing the base (briania), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:52 (seventeen years ago)

It would translate to internal scalding and/or uncontrollable vomiting. I don't know if that's your thing or not.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:52 (seventeen years ago)

ruining your mother's chapstick because it's so orange and waxy and perfectly smooth

that's the best.

lauren, Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:52 (seventeen years ago)

I know what ink tastes like because I've mistakenly chewed on brushes and pens too many times while absent mindedly sketching.

This cracks me up. I had a gf once who called me 'rooftop boy'.

Michael White, Tuesday, 28 October 2008 17:56 (seventeen years ago)

These Calum threads are actually kind of funny when there aren't 150+ of them posted a day.
