How To Deal With Being A Outsider At Peace?

Tis the deal: Since the new year started, I've had nothing to bitch about, or worry over....and this is so new to me, I've little idea how to handle it. Last year was mucho rough for many reasons (a few here know why). But now things around me are actually calm for more than five minutes.

I'm so used to living with / dealing with other people's crises and drama, that now that the "honeymoon period" is over, tis a challenge to fill the peacetime. (Call this the "anti-bitch.) I'm still po' and currently in the "armpit of the South" , so I dunno why I'm actually happy.

1) So, what the fuck do I do?;>

2) How do I make sure that my mates don't believe that I won't have time to hear them and their problems out? (This question has been in the back of my head, lately.)

(Picturing the ILX massive blowing rasperries, and yelling, "Come back when you've got an actual problem!")

Peace is a good, wholesome thing and it might not last long. Have you thought about volunteering at the library in a literacy program - i.e. adult reading classes?

Or do you CRAVE chaos and moping?

No, it's a genuine problem - when you've been helped through the shit there's a tendency to overcompensate to friends once things are brighter. Even to look for a problem to solve. If things are calm, savour the moment. Your friends who helped you may well need help down the line, but don't sweat it if that time doesn't come for a while.

I already did that, months ago. The locations I offered to volunteer for don't have any library patrons that need help, yet.

Or do you CRAVE chaos and moping?

Heh, you'd think so, wouldn't you? But seriously, I don't crave moping....I've just groomed myself into knowing how to deal with it on autopilot.

Believe me, I don't mind (and am glad) that they're at peace, too! I was just considering that I don't want them to think that I'm tossing them to the side during my peaceful period.

(Silly, I know, but the thought had occurred.)

It's times like this when I fully appreciate my abilities at creating completely unnecessary drama.

I conquer drama, 'Licious, I don't create (hence the autopilot).
