Hi Stevie! I could complete the trifecta of cities in which I've fancied pints with you. Tuesday is best but nightcaps the other nights are possible since you'll be right in my backyard, Silverlake/Los Feliz (and JBR's and omar's as well if I am not mistaken).

May I suggest for venues:

I should find out my itinerary today. I think I'm doing an interview on Tuesday afternoon/early evening but think I'm free apart from that...

When do you get in? I have an extra ticket for the Dodger-Giants game Monday if you would like to see baseball.

I am in Santa Clarita on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the day but can do evenings. Other days are more flexible.

I will be taking the bar exam Tuesday - Thursday. I would have liked to finally meet some more local ilxors!

Still don't know where I am staying! Supposedly somewhere nr Studio City since the person I'm interviewing is apparently no longer a Silverlake resident! Will update when I find out later on this evening.

Is thursday at all do-able or is that the day you're leaving?

I'm leaving Thursday - but my flight's at 16.30, so I'm feasibly around in the morning/for lunch...

After much palaver I have been booked into the Wilshire Plaza - http://www.wilshireplazahotel.com/ - which has a kind of skeezy rep from what I've read, but looks fine to me. In fact I seem to have lucked out, ending up with some kind of presidential suite with a separate sitting room, 12-foot dining table and candelabra.

Tomorrow evening I am hooking up with my interviewee at some diner in Laurel Canyon, but other than that I am free. Wednesday might be the best bet if folks are around?

LA seems a lot less scary in the overcast morning light. Got in last nite and felt like I'd been desposited inside some vast 27-lane motorway.

I saw it for the first time on DVD a couple of weeks ago expecting to love it and found it almost unbearable! I would have liked it more if it had entirely been shots of the Westway cut to Kraftwerk. And less Sting.
