Oh yeah? I had the worst fag-stained teeth EVAH. I hadn't been to a dentist in three years out of fear: I had practically black lower teeth, like someone from a fuckind Dickens novel. Anyhoo, all they did was sandblast the mothers. And it took exactly the length of 'In My Place' and 'Slow'. It wasn't a barrel of laughs, but it feels a fuc load better. No need for bleaching.
I gave up abt a month later, but that's another story.

starting day 1.
anybody used these before??
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 04:42 (eighteen years ago)
I heard that if you still smoke more than occasionally after using these strips, your teeth will return to their pre-whitestrips stain-color pretty fast. That seems plausible.
― ctrl-s, Thursday, 10 January 2008 04:55 (eighteen years ago)
i dont smoke
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 04:58 (eighteen years ago)
I put them on when I go to sleep and leave them on all night and wake up with scarily white teeth and don't use another one again for months.
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:01 (eighteen years ago)
really?????
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:02 (eighteen years ago)
roxymuzak: Do you smoke? I was thinking I'd wait until after I've quit smoking altogether before doing this.
― ctrl-s, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:03 (eighteen years ago)
I quit smoking in August. Yeah, really!
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:04 (eighteen years ago)
Some nerd is probably gonna come on here all "Erm, this is like really hurting your ENAMEL!!", but this person can also probably suck a mile of my dick.
does your mouth not feel bleargh when you wake up? all slimy and gross etc
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:05 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, is your mouth real nice and clean when you wake up?
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:06 (eighteen years ago)
true
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:06 (eighteen years ago)

― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:08 (eighteen years ago)

― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:13 (eighteen years ago)
i couldn't be 'arsed' to read the whitening strips tongue cancer thread from a few years ago.
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:14 (eighteen years ago)
It's basically bleaching yr teeth. What happens to clothes you use too much bleach on?
― libcrypt, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:14 (eighteen years ago)
Yes, it is exactly the same.
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:15 (eighteen years ago)
lolibcrypt
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:16 (eighteen years ago)
This is where true tooth whiteners come in. Basically, the whiteners use bleaching chemicals to get down into the tooth enamel and set off a chemical reaction (specifically, an oxidation reaction) that breaks apart the staining compounds.
Most tooth whiteners use one of two chemical agents: carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide (the same stuff that will bleach your hair). When used in the mouth, carbamide peroxide breaks down into hydrogen peroxide and urea, with hydrogen peroxide being the active whitening ingredient.

My wife bought a few "pro" treatments but didn't use them all because of the associated discomfort.
― libcrypt, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:19 (eighteen years ago)
i need this shit
― gershy, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:19 (eighteen years ago)
yeah i have the $50 crest full experience sitting in a drawer right now and i need to use it too
― jergïns, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:20 (eighteen years ago)
Well, people with sensitive teeth need to get their ass outta the kitchen on this shit. It's real.
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:21 (eighteen years ago)
I kinda like British-style teeth, to be honest.
― libcrypt, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:22 (eighteen years ago)
Yet you are against tooth rot?!
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:22 (eighteen years ago)
I'm not against tooth rot. I'm just against American smiles that can focus the sun and burn a hole in peoples' shirts.
― libcrypt, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:23 (eighteen years ago)
If you are going to get a shiny tooth thing, get a Mexi-mouth, I think.
― libcrypt, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:24 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, that kinda shit probably comes from professional shit. I said mine get scarily white, but that's an exag. I abuse coffee 4 real and my teeth would be brown as hell if I didn't use these.
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:25 (eighteen years ago)
Meaning extra white teeth, not mexi-mouth!
um how could you not like white teeth? wtf. damn britishes.
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:26 (eighteen years ago)
bad teeth = #1 most unattractive quality about a person
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:27 (eighteen years ago)
Thank god. I am so tired of people being like "Aw, I love shitty teeth! So cute." Yeah, well they fucking hurt and cause tons of problems.
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:28 (eighteen years ago)
i can't disassociate bad teeth from bad breath and bad tasting mouth so i mean that's a turn off w/o a doubt
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:30 (eighteen years ago)
Well now you sound obsessed.
― roxymuzak, Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:30 (eighteen years ago)
not ashamed
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 05:33 (eighteen years ago)

whoa, weird! I just sat down with a box of dissolvable Listerine whitening strips and then saw you bumped this thread! The box had been sitting in a box for months, and I decided to bust it out for some reason just now. I'm not optimistic about my chances, though, because I have two cups of coffee a day. The last few times I tried whitening strips they didn't really do anything noticeable.
