I saw his dad in my local supermarket. Just where is Keifer these days?

New TV series, 24. Oo. Thrilling.

dude, don't get me started on donald sutherland, i used to be totally obsessed with him. where do you live? and what was in his cart?

ethan, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Donald Sutherland is one of my favorite "old man" actors nowadays. Of course, the greatest old man actor of all time is MORGAN FREEMAN! Was he ever young?

And Keifer is cool too. I like his twitchy character in the underrated and underseen Dark City.

Ryan A White, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

dude, dark city isn't underrated by anyone.

ethan, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm not sure how to take that :)

Ryan A White, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i haven't seen it, i'm just saying it seems to be universally loved.

ethan, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I thought maybe you pointing out that it is certainly overrated in some film geek quarters. I meant the "general" public, but who the hell is that? Still, anyone who tells me that it is not better than The Matrix is basically farting out of their mouth.

Ryan A White, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

like julia roberts, hit their peak in flatliners then rolled speedily downhill.

ethan, (since you're the first person to ever be impressed by that story hurrah) that was in the Loblaws on the Toronto harbourfront and I'm afraid I didn't notice what was in his cart due to his dumbfounding moviestar-ness - far too intimidating to be stared at - he was all stern looks with sunglasses on. All I can remember now is that he was right beside this mountain of bagged carrots. So now in my mind Donald Sutherland = fresh produce.

Kim, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

His performance in The Promised Land was almost touching -- perhaps the more so because his girlfriend/wife, Meg "Hi, I'm Meg Ryan, and I'm so cute" Ryan, was so baaaaad. What a strange, and somehow haunting, little movie that was, despite its (very substantial) flaws.

Kiefer Sutherland without Lou Diamond Phillips is like Marty Janetty without Shawn Michaels.

Kris, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Donald Sutherland rocks, though one must ask the question "What sort of man names his son Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus?"

My favourite Kiefer film is probably Freeway because (a)it's based on Little Red Riding Hood and (b)Reese Witherspoon kicks ass

Kiefer:

i just saw him three weeks ago on the Queen E. streetcar going towards the Eaton Centre. He was sitting in a single seat nearest me but i was wayyyyy too nervous to go up to him. Weird thing was he looked like he gained about 30 lbs and had a bearded goatee!! must be making a movie about hell's angels

shinysteve, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

bearded=BRAIDED...Doh!!

shinysteve, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Actually, I think I did hear that he was filming something here.

Some chix from the office saw Jason Priestly the other day on Spadina. He was getting out of an SUV though. Glad to see that Keifer's not above using the good old TTC.

Kim, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)
