Classic Or Dud:The Tina Fey Look

this isn't a thread about tina fey per se, i've just been noticing the look more for some reason. is it more prevalent now or has it been like that for a while? what do you call it? the glasses. the hair. you know. it's sassy. it's now. it has a sense of humour and smarts to spare. or at least that's what i think this look is saying. has there been a thread on this? if you look like tina fey please do not be alarmed. she's cute! my start page is earthlink.net and recently they got rid of their welcoming 70's flight attendant and replaced her with:

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Yow, I wanna switch to Earthlink now!

My wife was rockin' the Tina Fey glasses before Tina Fey was out of high school.

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

That earthlink creature looks like a man in Tina Fey drag.

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I just figured it out -- some asshole somewhere is about to make an advertising pitch to ConHugeCo with this as the 'quirkyalone' look.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

if she doesn't have the scar i ain't buying it.

Chris V (Chris V), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I personally find "IQ-boosting" glasses to be pretty pretentious, but that's just my bias as a 24-year user of soft contacts. The Tina Fey look is not a good one, IMO. The glasses seem to scream, "I'm intelligent!"

Baked Bean Teeth (Baked Bean Teeth), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

no, they scream "I'm HOTTTTT!"

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

"I'm HOTTTTT! and I know Ethan Hawke!"

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Friday, 13 February 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Matos, if anything needed to be forgiven, now all would be forgiven. As it is you're Dwight D. Eisenhower because you're ON THE MONEY.

Isn't Dwight just on the silver dollar? That's a pretty obscure coin these days; you don't see them much outside of Las Vegas and Reno.

I used to think glasses are hot. Now that EVERYONE thinks glasses are hot, I've rather gone off them.

The New Main Street Singers' greatest triumph.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 13 February 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Boys don't make passes at girls that wear glasses.

andy, Friday, 13 February 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

It looks like Lisa Loeb has had a masectomy.

andy, Friday, 13 February 2004 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

They instead make passes at girls who have asses.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 13 February 2004 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

asses + glasses = passes

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Friday, 13 February 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

what about girls who have gas?

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Friday, 13 February 2004 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)

know any that don't?

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Friday, 13 February 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I dated this girl who looked like Kylie Minogue, complete w/big teeth, and she wore Tina Fey glasses. Needless to say I was content for those few months until she moved to NYC.

I hate this look, though the picture Kingfish linked to is purdy nice.

So, basically the look in question is skinny girl with glasses? I'm 1 for 2 then, I guess.

I have never heard of Tina Fey but she appears to remind me of my ex girlfriend. so classic in a sad way :-(

tina looks a bit too angular & sharp-featured w/o the glasses.

m coleman (lovebug starski), Saturday, 18 November 2006 15:02 (nineteen years ago)

she's not that good looking but certainly passable - she seems like someone who you could actually know in your real life. in other words, she's fairly ordinary, and that accessibility is part of the appeal to some guys. Lisa Loeb pwns her from here to eternity and back again tho if we're talking the geeky white gal look, and even she isn't all that.
i think if you're gonna have fantasy drools over some celeb/movie star type, go for the gold, worship Claudia Cardinale or someone like that.

It's the look that says, "I need to see, so here's my glasses. Long hair is for 12 year old girls, so hear is my age-appropriate haircut."

Bobby Ganush (Uri Frendimein), Saturday, 18 November 2006 16:10 (nineteen years ago)

It's a good look. I don't know who Tina Fey is.

It's the look that says, "I need to see, so here's my glasses. Long hair is for 12 year old girls, so hear is my age-appropriate haircut."

I am a woman with glasses and hair and I approve this message.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Saturday, 18 November 2006 16:31 (nineteen years ago)

she definitely looks better with longer hair, tho i guess there are some people who would like this look better:

the "hipster-hepcat girl" look now just fills me with sadness and self-loathing every time i witness it due to so many rejections and bothersome cockteasing from girls who have employed it.

Viceroy, Friday, 10 August 2007 21:17 (eighteen years ago)

Tina Fey, something in her eyes makes me feel she would definitely give me the stinkeye if we met, no matter how wide a variety of delicious beverages I offered. Maybe this isn't true.

Abbott, Friday, 10 August 2007 21:29 (eighteen years ago)

It is amazing how much a pair of little black glasses can do for some girls. Would that there were an analogous miracle accessory for guys.
