What shall I spend my £800 bonus on?

My bonus came through yesterday, and its burning a hole in my pocket. I'm otrn between a Gibson SG, a telecaster or an iPod, although I'm sure tehres loads of other stuff.

What shall I buy? All recomendations shall be considered.

My b'days in October. It was forgotten by EVERYONE! Even my work, who keep a list of everyone's birthday so that desks can be gathered around (an annoying habit, I must admit) managed to forget. Fortunatly, being a happy-go-lucky stylee character type person, I didn't mind. Either that, or my ego was at rock-bottom to start with. Either way, when the found out, they bought me a pewter Gandalf bookmark, so I mustn't grumble!

my tele is the only thing I ever spent a lot of money on that I didn't have buyer's remorse over (and it was significantly cheaper than $1500, so I think you could probably buy it and something else)

Go ask Pete Townshend what he's willing to part with. Buy that, sell it to a collector, get both the SG and the Tellie AND a Country Gentleman, put them all in your 66' GTO and go on vacation in, say, St. Tropez. Enjoy the new iPod on the beach and invest the rest.

Which pedals are they? I've got a huge Korg multi-effects thing - saves me having to do a Riverdance whenever I want to radicly change an effect mid-song.

You can't go wrong with a bit of flange.

My fave effect is an overdriven phaser with a pile of reverb. It turns my guitar into the kind of music that people in 1960 thought people in 2004 would be listening to.

Same with overdrive - its really easy to over-do it. I find myself tutning into Pantera unless I'm REALLY careful with what I play.

I worte a song, well sort of, on my other guitar. If I use any effects, it'll be overdrive. Flanger would ruin the beauty of the song. I will write a song using both eventually, but so far, my songs are clean.

Write a song clean, its the way forward. I ONLY write on my acoustic - once the melody and chords sound good there, then I turn the amp on and boot up Cubase.
