I Just Shook John Edwards' Hand

His speech was the greatest thing I have heard any serious presidential candidate say, ever. We were right up in the front row. He signed my daughter's book, talked to my son (admiring the North Carolina t-shirt), and fired up the people in the room like you wouldn't believe.

The man is impeccably groomed, too.

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Saturday, 14 February 2004 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt Drudge would probably explode if you slept with Edwards. You should do it.

Sym (shmuel), Saturday, 14 February 2004 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

have him sing lil wayne's verse from "project chick" into a tape recorder and leak it over the internet.

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Saturday, 14 February 2004 23:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my god, I haven't been sleeping well, my eyes are heavy, and I read the subject line as "I shook John Edwards' wand"!

Kerry (dymaxia), Sunday, 15 February 2004 00:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Kerry, is your name a clue as to why you're trying to start such a scurrilous rumour?

pete s, Sunday, 15 February 2004 00:57 (twenty-two years ago)

bump because Edwards is leading right now in Wisconsin (with only 3% reporting, of course, but still even if Kerry wins this is a big thing)

Oh man, if Edwards wins WI, I'm gonna be happier than I've been in a while.

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 02:39 (twenty-two years ago)

he might not win, CB, but he's throwing a scare into ol' craggypants big-time.

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 02:40 (twenty-two years ago)

wow yeah CNN is projecting only a narrow win for Kerry in WI.

"Well that's a strange way to tell me you love me / When your sorrow is all I can see / If you just wanna cry to somebody / Don't cry to meeeee...."

Thank you for that, Pleasant.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 02:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Years ago, my heart was set to live, oh
But I've been trying hard against unbelievable odds
It gets so hard at times like now to hold on
My guns they're waiting to be stuck by
At my side is God

And there ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round

There's people around who tell you that they know
The places where they send you, and it's easy to go
They'll zip you up and dress you down
Stand you in a row
But you know you don't have to
You can just say no

And there ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round

I've been built up and trusted
Broke down and busted
But they'll get theirs and we'll get ours
Just if we can
Just, ah, hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on

Years ago my heart was set to live, oh
But I've been trying hard against strong odds
It gets so hard at times like now to hold on
Well, I'll fall if I don't fight
And at my side is God

Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Ain't no one gonna turn me 'round
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on

Years ago I was all set to go
And I've been trying hard against long odds
It gets so hard at times like this to even hang around
I can either stand or fall
And I believe I'm gonna stand tall

Bumfluff, Monday, 9 August 2004 02:37 (twenty-one years ago)

That beats the hell out of Fleetwood Mac. Someone call the DNC. Chilton won't care. If he's willing to sell-out to FOX for "That 70's Show", he surely won't mind this.

(x-post,
thanks, Ned)
