I found myself laughing at Paul McCartney's Song about Admiral Halsey:
"The butter wouldn't melt so I put it in the pie"
So I ask you what the hell were they smokin'? Really..what?

This is a great song, but you're right - it's like a stream of consciousness dialogue. Why the fuck did McCartney write all that?! However, I always thought it was
"I took another look and I had a cup of tea and a butter pie.
A butter pie?
The butter wouldn't melt so I put it in the pie, alright?"

Remember when they used this song in Only Fools And Horses? Probably the best use of storyline/song lyrics evah!
