Anyone read this yet? It looks like it could either be fascinating or incredibly annoying.

What is DD's great significance, apart from being The New Yorker film critic not as good as Anthony Lane?

Chuck Tatum (Chuck Tatum), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Apparently has little to nothing to do with his sketchy skills as a film critic.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:56 (twenty-two years ago)

He wrote Great Books, which was supposed to be pretty good.

I skimmed this in Borders today, and noticed that the bit about Internet porn only takes up like two pages near the beginning, after he tells how his marriage collapsed. Then the remaining 200 pages are all about the stock market!

I finished this last night. More interesting as a memoir than a commentary on the bubble. Denby, as in his reviews, isn't particularly likeable, but it's really engaging.
