*laughs*

*laughs some more*

*laughs again*

*gasps for air*

Obviously they did not take into consideration high schools akin to the one I graduated from. Whoo boy. *takes tissue, wipes tears from cheek* If they'd actually seen how academically rigorous my HS experience was, they wouldn't have made such a blanket assertion.

*sputters*

Ooh, gotta take a break here.

*literally collapses on the floor in a laughing fit*

what does attendance matter?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

no kidding. I know kids who went to the local high school and couldnt even fucking read! i think 'inadequate' is too kind of a word..

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 02:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I had to work my ass off at the end there for mine after fucking up for a few years (I didn't go very often). Now I am trying to do the same thing in college.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 02:30 (twenty-two years ago)

And the current HS drop-out rate is...maybe 20-25%

jim wentworth (wench), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 04:32 (twenty-two years ago)

you could probably say much the same thing about most US colleges

mookieproof (mookieproof), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

35% of kids in special ed drop out before they graduate
65% of prison inmates have a learning disability

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

four years pass...

Ugh. I can't find mine. I need it.

Darryl Strawberry (The Reverend), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 10:37 (seventeen years ago)

thread title isn't necessarily true -- I didn't attend much

Everything is Highlighted (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 10:44 (seventeen years ago)

Right, but ummm anyway, there is a document somewhere that proves I completed high school. I need this.

Darryl Strawberry (The Reverend), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 10:56 (seventeen years ago)

Found it! Buried way at the bottom of a drawer full of reciepts and paystubs. All the world's problems are solved.

Darryl Strawberry (The Reverend), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 11:00 (seventeen years ago)

Haha, what did you want me to find it for you?

Everything is Highlighted (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 11:02 (seventeen years ago)

while you're searching, can you find my Green Card? (and the St.Claire diamonds?)

doing maths to celebrate Architecture (Masonic Boom), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 11:03 (seventeen years ago)

The green card is in the basket on top of your fridge. The diamonds were "borrowed" by a guest just over a year ago.

Damn straight.

Darryl Strawberry (The Reverend), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 11:07 (seventeen years ago)

I don't have a basket on top of my fridge! Alls I have up there is empty real ale bottles!

The diamonds thing is entirely possible, considering my mum's houseguests. :-(

I also have a US diploma - well, a GED - somewhere. No idea where that is. Haven't been asked for it in a million years! OK, once, when I was applying to Uni. But that's it.

Everything is Highlighted (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 24 September 2008 11:58 (seventeen years ago)

I did win a lot of awards for 'attendance.' How backhanded a ribbon I have earned.
