Had I been asked prior to this thread, I would have assumed that the M&Ms would have packed more densely. It really isn't that hard to figure. They are elliptical and just nudge up better. Not a very scientific answer, but what do I know? Chicklets may be even more densely packable due to their squareness.

I strongly note, however, this is not what chocolate or Chicklet enthusiats care about.
