strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I am coming, but you all knew that anyway.

Where's good to meet near The End?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Griffin ;)

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

the old crown. or the one that's around the corner from it, which might be the crown.

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

i got a plus 2 (probably discount entry like last time)

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

How much is it without blags?

Me and Derrick haven't got on as well lately.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 18:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't wait btw!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 18:18 (twenty-two years ago)

The End hurts my ears. Although I kinda wanted to see some of that monster 8-hour set Laurent Garnier did there last Saturday. Derrick Carter is also damn fine. I wanted to give the old dancin' legs a rest this weekend, but this makes me think otherwise...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Garnier did 8 hours?????????? GAAAAAAAAAH why must I live in the global equiv of Springfield.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup. 8 hours - according to last week's Time Out and the club's website, anyway. The mind boggles.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

love to see a tracklist eh!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 21:11 (twenty-two years ago)

good for you Ronan, I hope it goes well for you!

Former Supposed So Called Nihilist Teenage Drug Disco Addiction Counselor (mjt), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 02:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I am feeling extraordinarily rough after the week I've had, so I doubt I'm going to make this now. Have fun folks.

Ricardo (RickyT), Saturday, 21 February 2004 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

i am ill :-( so i will not be there. hope it's a good one though.

toby (tsg20), Saturday, 21 February 2004 20:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sorry I didn't make this... any cop?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 22 February 2004 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Best. night. ever.

I think I'll be talking about this for months, not entirely the DJ set just generally the night. DC was great if a bit samey after hour 3 but what a night. it got very messy. we pretended to be homeless beggars.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 22 February 2004 23:17 (twenty-two years ago)

'pretended'

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 22 February 2004 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

People looked through us we like they invisible were transparent

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 22 February 2004 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Is it because you speaking funny?

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 23 February 2004 05:55 (twenty-two years ago)

It has addled Ronan's brane.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 23 February 2004 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Ro, remember to elaborate when you're back in a regular brainstate.

Barima (Barima), Monday, 23 February 2004 10:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha shit dude I should probably have given you directions on how to get back to the Brixton tube station. Sorry I ended up punking out. If only I'd found some more tomato juice.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 23 February 2004 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah Brixton is a totally fun place to be stuck in an altered state of mind at stupid'o'clock, I'm sure Ronang was fine!

I saw Bill Bailey on Saturday and was convinced I was seeing tiny weasels everywhere on the way home - that's a different brainstate too right? HURRAH.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 23 February 2004 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Sadly no bouze shops were open. Too bad we weren't jonesing for hash because total strangers seemed desperate for us to have some. Ah BRIXTONG.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 23 February 2004 10:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Hahaha. Got a call freom G&R wondering about meat-based Smithfield breakfasts at about 11. Mongs.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 23 February 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

no, we werent looking for breakfasts, we were looking for a pub that opened early

gareth (gareth), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Nearest Wetherspoons then?

Sarah (starry), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

no, we werent looking for breakfasts, we were looking for a pub that opened early

best. post. ever.

please switch off ilx now, it has reached it's peak.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, booze-based Smithfield breakfasts, then (one must make allowances for the addled ramblings of the 24hrpartypeople). Unfortunately there are none to be had on a Sunday, as special licensing is down to the butchers coming to market in the week.

Anna says you were still very UP when you called her, G.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

You should have gone to Russia.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Was there a semi-comatose Stevem involved in this anywhere, or just the three of you?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:30 (twenty-two years ago)

yea, we got 2nd wind by then, me and ronan went to a pub at 12, had a few beers while the villa-birmingham game was on, left about 3ish i think

Was there a semi-comatose Stevem involved in this anywhere, or just the three of you?

stevem left about 3 or 4 ish, phil left at 5.30, then we did indeed try and go to the russian bar but it was closed, so we went to tracers instead, and left there when emma got up, maybe around 10

derrick carter was fairly good, but not especially so, the set was really homgeneous, the only track i recognised was possibly a rmx of mike dunn's magic feet. it was quite a subdued atmosphere i think, and the music could have done with being a bit rougher

i am treating this weekend as a warm up for jeff mills on saturday

gareth (gareth), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh. I totally forgot about Jeff Mills. Am now booked up that weekend.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 23 February 2004 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I wonder if stevem finally found some hot meat.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 23 February 2004 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

btw gareth, Emma said that once she spotted you through the haze of cigarette smoke you were both lovely and polite, and she actually feels a bit bad about not offering you any breakfast.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 23 February 2004 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

What a Gareth/Tracer smoking comedown looks like:

suzy (suzy), Monday, 23 February 2004 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Yall fucken pill monsters

Le Coq, Monday, 23 February 2004 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

we were looking for a pub that opened early

royal oak in columbia road - open 8am on sundays!

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 23 February 2004 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

It was such a fun night. My post above was a joke by the way, my brain was not that addled, they were too good for that kind of thing. I just got up, every bone in my body is sore.

Throat is also completely fucked, I think cigarette count had reached 34 or so by the time we left the pub.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude my neck muscles are like to pop off they're wound so tight, WTF?!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Lauren, trust you to know that!

suzy (suzy), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

my back is very sore, my hands are quite shakey also, that was easily my most full on time in London, I don't think we did anything except drink.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Short-term memory loss already kicking in I see.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

oh no on Saturday we did everything except drink. except we also drank.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

The beggar story: so when we couldn't find a pub that was open we were thrown off course, we'd had the idea of a pint in our heads and really wanted some beer. So we went to a newsagents and got a can of stella and then found a nice doorway to smoke in with it.

I asked passers by for spare change but we didn't get any. I thought my Irish accent would help to make it more authentic.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

[mobile rings]
Anna: Hello.
Gareth: Hello, how are you?
Anna: Hungover
Gareth: You're lucky. Me and Ronan are in the pub, we still haven't been to bed yet. We were drinking Stella in a doorway and asking people for change.
Anna: I can't believe you were begging for drug money!
Gareth: No we weren't! We wanted somewhere to sit and drink and we got this can of Stella and we thought it wasn't going to be any good but [slightly breathless pause] it was reeeeaaaally nice.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:39 (twenty-two years ago)

its probably best if we close the door on this one now i think

gareth (gareth), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

[sorry]

Anna (Anna), Monday, 23 February 2004 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Sweet

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 23 February 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Meat?

Ronan you may have had more luck had you had shabbier clothes and a dog on string instead of a Gareth. this just makes me wonder though, maybe all the Irish beggars on the streets are just like you, on holiday!

stevem (blueski), Monday, 23 February 2004 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

ten months pass...
I really want to come to London again soon : (
