this is the thread for whenever you see something really funny on Channel 4

like RIGHT NOW - these stuffed puppets mixed with other footage are doing it for me (previously seen in some TV spots for Big Brother last year)

Russell Brand was just on with his own show as well, he has his moments (he did on MTV's Dancefloor Chart at least)

this thread title reads funny without answers

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you watching telly now?

UR ALL SLACKEROXORS. OR UR ALL ZOE WILLIAMZ

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 11:14 (twenty-two years ago)

zoe williams wrote the best article I read from her for ages on sat, about the women's library exhibition, office politics: women in the workplace. Out of all the employers represented in the exhibition she kept using examples of the GPO, which is rather amusing.

Sorry, very off-topic!

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Talking about Zoe Williams is never off-topic.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

What about this is the thread where we do not talk about Zoe Williams?

Matt, how long have you been waiting to post that url?

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 11:27 (twenty-two years ago)

And to think if it had not been for that lame gag, I would never have discovered the Asphalt and Gravel Online Discussion Forum.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

it wasnt on ch4 but - Gilbert & George were interviewed on bbc1 breakfast television this morning. they were both funny haha and funny peculiar (as you might expect).

zappi (joni), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

OK folks - from here on out if you do see something funny on C4 it will be thanks to my bud Andr3w N3wman. You may have seen him playing young faux-Jarvis on an early Brasseye. He's now Head of Ent. so conversely if things suck, which is unlikely, I can also tell him he's wanking it up.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Should there be a new sitcom for Channel 4?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I'll find out next week. The wife and I have serious catch-up to do.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't remember the last time C4 had anything funny on.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

pete s, Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:59 (twenty-two years ago)

The best thing I've seen on Channel Four was on Sesame Street years ago. They used to show some sketch with these big grey dogs, weimeraners I think, where they dressed them in human clothes and got them to pose ridiculously. I think one of the dogs was called Faye, and there was a voiceover by a really serious sounding man. Please please someone tell me they have seen this.....

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Thursday, 19 February 2004 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Those are the William Wegman dogs. He's been photographing them for years, but I've never seen them on Sesame Street. One's called Fay Wray (like the actress) and there's a Man Ray as well, and some others. I remember his books and calendars selling well when I used to work in B0rders.

What a way to make a living. Think I'll get myself a couple of hounds and see if my panties fit them. I could do some kind of dog erotica, like Bloodhounds in Bras. There's got to be a market....

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Thursday, 19 February 2004 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

hey, I'd pay a pound to see a dog in a catsuit

(unless it was Justin whatshisface from the Darkness)

chris (chris), Thursday, 19 February 2004 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Krishnan couldn't remember the name of the other dude in the US president candidate comp on the news last night. It was funny, the guy he was interviewing had to help him out.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 19 February 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Father Ted was on last night.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 20 February 2004 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

A few days ago I saw Krishnan shopping in Leather Lane market. He's very very short.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 20 February 2004 09:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Krishnan got in a huff with the (female) sports reporter one lunchtime during Wimbledon; she was having a good time, looking all relaxed with her shades on and didn't answer his question directly then carried on with her own spiel about the tournament; when she handed back K sneered and mumbled moodily at the camera 'well i'm not talking to her tomorrow because she doesn't answer my questions'. Good job only about five ppl were watching.

pete s, Friday, 20 February 2004 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

and she mocked his lame chat-up lines at the Christmas party...
