Has anyone actually seen the bloody thing? Who keeps going? When oh when will it finally close?

Yes, once. I didn't think it was bad, but it was very very wooden and has dated badly. (Though they have a new set now - maybe they've updated it). It is populated solely by tourists, it is like Madame Toussauds or some other similar attraction that can rely on a steady trade because it has a) made a name for itself b) is just there. Hence, it will NEVER CLOSE. MWAHAHAHA! Can I reveal who the murderer is? I'm not meant to, you know.

I heard that the same understudy has been in place for over twenty years and she's never actually gone on stage! She just turns up for each performance and if she isn't needed she just knits in her dressing room while the show goes on just in case she's needed. And she never is. What a job!

Mind you, I do sod all at work, spending so long on ILE I think that anybody who asks me to do anything is just plain rude.

Saw a local production here in California years back in high school. I liked it, but I was steeped in Agatha C. stuff from birth thanks to my mom.

I saw it on a school trip. Thirteen on the trip, thirteen in the audience.

Still, if you're an actor its probablt the closest thing in the industry to steady work other than a soap. And even they might write you out.

for all we know they change the plot every night, and just wing it...

In London at least, they change the cast every year.

Will 'Art' still be running in 50 yrs time (and has anyone seen that?) And whatever happened to 'No Sex Please We're British', which I remember being touted as longest running comedy or something during my first teenage forays into the big smoke...

A trip to the London show was a mandatory part of my European Teen Tour from Hell. I remember Rik Mayall as part of the cast, and maybe some other leading lights of British New Comedy. It amused me, and no, I didn't guess the ending until it was too late.
