Fucking ... I was working on a film project and had like an eight minute segment rendering under the bed for like six hours, and I started playing with the cord between my toes. I pulled it out accidentally, and when I rebooted the whole clip was corrupted. Two days later I bought a $130 UPS. So yeah: big dud.

Of course, you could always reorient your power strip so that the switch isn't within firing range...but definitely a UPS is a great idea, because it just keeps the power that much more stable in general.
