If you were Barthes you'd analyse the semiotic possibilities of the 'goal' before which you stood, *then* let a few goals in to make Ferguson realise his defence was shit.

The mistake where he ran out was bad, but all keepers do it once in a while. I've never seen anything like the other mistake though - indecision by a keeper is disaster just about anywhere in the area, but in the six-yard box it's fatal.

Blanc - useless. He'll be nudged out by a new foreign signing before Christmas. He's ruining Wes Brown's game too. The best centre back the Mancs have is the injury-prone Johnsen.

It was noticeable that both times Barthez rushed out from goal last night, Wes Brown was the defender. could the issue be that Barthez has no confidence in Brown?

The Pinefox's editor once made a tremendously witty comment involving Barthez, Barthes and S/Z. Which I had to have explained to me, in my ignorance.
