I don't mean annoyed, I mean fuming, I-want-to-smite-you-and-possibly-everyone-within-a-five-mile-radius-of-you-because-they-are-contaminated-by-your-proximity angry.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

every hour, give or take.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

a lot more frequently when i am driving and trying to get the cd player to work.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe once a week.
actually, since New Year's I've been less likely to fly off the handle. But just before that (which led to me taking some direct action which has led to being less angry and more broke) I actually hulked out and tore off my t-shirt from the chest.

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Did someone say "Barry to thread"?

(not in quite the mood Dan mentioned, but I'm back to pissy-to-very-pissy, and it ain't fun.)

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Old answer: frequently. Current answer: less frequently.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Rarely, but i've noticed i've been a bit angrier since not being at home all day every day (well, mostly) which was over four months ago now. most of this is just down to Bus Rage i.e. commuting to and from work which is actually fine except it exposes me to idiot fellow passengers like that young guy i've encountered twice who yaps on the backseat for the whole time in the style of Justin Kerrigan's character in Human Traffic - and everyone on the upper deck has to listen to his inane crap...but i guess this doesn't make me that ANGRY as such - just irritated. i get frustrated and irritated VERY easily but I'm reluctant to call it real anger, and I never lash out physically at anything.

x-post - if that Hulk Barry pic is not a cure for anger then i don't know what is (except in Barry's case praps)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you like my dang-style flat top?

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Once every 10 years or so.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:38 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, i am about where jel is. it takes a lot to get me upset

todd swiss (eliti), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I gave my answer here:

When have you been the most angry in life?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Every couple months. And for no discernable reason. Last time I was at a bowling alley and had to leave because I was becoming enraged, but I don't know why.

mookieproof (mookieproof), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't get angry enough. i tend to hold it in for a once a month giant snap.

Chris V (Chris V), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Once a month is quite a lot!

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

ok, i lied once every three months.

Chris V (Chris V), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

all the time! on and off. last time really fuming going mad was maybe an argument with parents, I don't know when the last one was, we get along ok these days.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Not as often as I used to, but more often than I like.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

ditto

Felonious Drunk (Felcher), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

at least once a week, but i healthily keep it bottled it up. i hardly ever let loose publicly, but when i do it tends to be pretty full-on. one of my friends still recalls the time that i lost my temper and shouted at her while we were at college 8 years ago.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to say "live and let die."

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:45 (twenty-two years ago)

MACCA ATTACK

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:46 (twenty-two years ago)

but, now, I mostly say "live and let live."

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Pretty much daily, but 99% of the time it's at myself. (The other 1% I save for ILX.)

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:49 (twenty-two years ago)

very often. i'd guess several times a week.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm with Eisbar. I think it's the Legal way. Luckily, I can sort of see through the seething and decide whether it's reasonable or not. Generally, I just hold most of it in and try to let it out by running or painting or killing animals.

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Every work day. Usually every period. I'd say a least ten times a day during the week at least.

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't get angry, I get even.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

uh oh.

Felonious Drunk (Felcher), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I get angry pretty easily! Probably once a week.

It really doesn't take much, I have a bit of a short fuse. But then I'm able to get over it pretty quickly and move on, I guess in some ways that's better than lingering resentment.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

"once a week" is practically dalai lama-type serene territory from where i sit.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I avoid getting angry, often, by pretending to always be angry.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 20:27 (twenty-two years ago)

My...serene way

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Not too much. What scares me is when I get so mad that I go blind.

Hunter (Hunter), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 21:50 (twenty-two years ago)

How often am I not mad? What with Bush, Hummers, Fur-wearers, Jaywalkers,etc...I rarely have time for anything but anger.

Speedy Gonzalas (Speedy Gonzalas), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe once a year, however I get riled at least once a week.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:23 (twenty-two years ago)

As often as asshats run stop signs or lie to me.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:24 (twenty-two years ago)

More than I used to.

Aja (aja), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:26 (twenty-two years ago)

what?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

just kidding :-)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

MAN I AM ANGRY NOW

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think there's any set frequency to me getting angry. Usually less than once a month, though.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

not that often evidently. Only once in months did I have to excuse myself from a conversation without someone at work to kick the door of a bathroom stall a couple times. I get irritated easily but it rarely comes out as anger.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

RIGHT FUCKING NOW BUDS
oh i need some lightning bolt to soothe me

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

argh. conversation with someone at work

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah try 30-50 times a week for me. Part of it though is my bipolar. I was prescribed an anti-pyschotic to avoid getting so rageful (boy the kids would love to know that. . .) but am no longer taking it since it caused me to gain 20 pounds in less than three months. Solution: a new career which provides less opportunity for my rage to manifest. Hopefully I'll still have some teeth left by then.

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 19 February 2004 00:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm feeling the beginnings of a boiling white hot rage coming on.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 19 February 2004 01:17 (twenty-two years ago)

really?

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 19 February 2004 01:32 (twenty-two years ago)

yes.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 19 February 2004 01:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i get angry all the time & always at other people, which surely is some sort of self-defense mechanism so that i don't start hating on myself constantly? i don't know. i actually imagined physically beating my roommate to a bloody pulp this morning because she got up at 7am, went out to the living room to watch TV, and didn't close the bedroom door. also i have a habit of imagining clint eastwood coming into my classes and shooting people through the head who make stupid, self-evident, long-winded comments, and then riding off cowboy-like into the skyline.

j c (j c), Thursday, 19 February 2004 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Yesterday. I got hitched up to broadband and in the process my rig was hacked. I just reconfigured my hard drive. Otherwise, it was an o.k. day

jim wentworth (wench), Thursday, 19 February 2004 05:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Not often enough.

Allyzay, Thursday, 19 February 2004 06:00 (twenty-two years ago)

About once a month. Mostly I just don't care enough about anything to get really angry.

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 19 February 2004 06:06 (twenty-two years ago)

you should get angry on the air and play some throbbing gristle (hey, that shit's synthpop ... kinda anyway)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 19 February 2004 06:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Way too often. To the extent that I'm starting to seriously worry about my blood pressure and envision having a stroke although I'm only 31. Especially while driving, I actually beat on my dashboard and ceiling due to other people's idiocy.

webcrack (music=crack), Thursday, 19 February 2004 06:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Whenever I have time to think.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 19 February 2004 06:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to play nothing but "The Living Dead" and "Mad World" on my next show and you're gonna like it, bitch!!! Also "Justified and Ancient" which doesn't really fit with the froo-froo goth theme.

Allyzay, Thursday, 19 February 2004 06:55 (twenty-two years ago)

"requiem" and "love like blood" would both probably fit in pretty well w/ yer show's format, since they both have synths.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 19 February 2004 07:11 (twenty-two years ago)

haha "format". I was planning on playing Love Like Blood actually. "The Living Dead" unfortunately does not fit the format. However, the theme to Knight Rider DOES so everyone wins at this game.

This is the way I get angry, btw. Aversion. I'm destroying the thread. We should take this to my radio show thread!!

Allyzay, Thursday, 19 February 2004 07:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I seem to get angry all the time these days, I mean, like the phone rings, and I get angry about it. I'm going to have to do something about it if it gets any worse.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 19 February 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Pretty flipping grumpy the last two days. I even snapped at Nice Christian Finn Co-worker yesterday, and she wasn't exceeding her own standards of dumbness or anything. Waiting for a bus I had to punch the ticket machine (lightly, I'm not a self-harming menko) and swear loudly a couple of times because the world was cheesing me off so much.

I have much less rage now than I did as a teenager, though, or maybe I just have more self-awareness and so am able to divert the anger when I feel it welling up. It's not generally constructive to be seething all the time.

Also: Hormonal Lady Rage strikes sometimes, as Robster can testify. But not that often.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 19 February 2004 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I have to admit that I do have an almost constant vague resentment toward most things, I live with it though.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 19 February 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

having spent the last five months hearing essentially anti-knowledge/learning/education attitudes coming from future teachers: frequently.

fcussen (Burger), Thursday, 19 February 2004 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

fcussen, do you teach future teachers? what did you teach before that?

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 19 February 2004 20:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't teach and i hope i never will, but the college i'm in is mostly teacher-training and its a pretty shitty place.

fcussen (Burger), Thursday, 19 February 2004 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the more mellow side of reggae music, so never.

A Nairn (moretap), Thursday, 19 February 2004 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't teach and i hope i never will, but the college i'm in is mostly teacher-training and its a pretty shitty place.

teaching's a pretty shitty job. I really try to avoid talking with other teachers b/c those converstions are akin to being forced to watch kittens murdered. inevitably though people always want to talk about education when they find out I'm a teacher. Nobody ever wants to know my opinions on Bewitched. *sigh*

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 19 February 2004 22:06 (twenty-two years ago)

So, Sam, what are your opinions on Bewitched?

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 19 February 2004 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I actually have none but I liked that thread about Larry Tate and Darin Stevens.

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Thursday, 19 February 2004 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I just may smack this instructor if she thinks bringing her class into the library for a lesson on how to use the reference databases 5 minutes before I'm supposed to close up is acceptable. Grrr.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 19 February 2004 23:54 (twenty-two years ago)

if i dont scream into the wind every 2-3 days, i will kill all my asshole classmates.

WITH A GIANT BARBEQUE

chris d (Chris DeWolf), Friday, 20 February 2004 00:35 (twenty-two years ago)

How often do you get angry?

I get mildly angry at least once per day based on some sort of "argh, some drivers are so fucking stupid!" thought running through my head.

But truly "pissed off" angry? Hardly ever. I get very mournful whenever a lot of others get truly disastrously angry, or I'll direct a lot of negative energies inward. Though the last time I got "fuming" angry was rather recent. I don't remember exactly when -- all I remember is scaring myself by how violent my thoughts were getting. And you know the fit has the potential to hit the shan when that happens. Thankfully, though, I'm not counting on that happening anytime soon.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 20 February 2004 04:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh shit, I just totally chewed out a security guard who wouldn't let me into the building because my ID was out of date. We're talking eyeball-to-eyeball screaming of the most childish kind. AND I threw my torn ID at some other guards who were watching in amusement.

I need some coffee.
